the funny thing is he ridiculed his own movie on Conan O'brian the other night.... and no one was buying the idea of a 50 y/o getting back to the ring....

Exactly.

I thought if ever he did a Rocky 6 he would end up being the coach of another young buck from the streets who wanted to fight, but they say he is going to be the boxer.

It could be worse.

We could have a senior citizen "Rambo" sequel.

This film has to be money driven and he is trying to resurrect his career by going back to what made him famous. Its hard to command $20 million a film when your last 10 have been box office losers.

I have no idea how he could make this movie work. Times have changed, America does not need hero's, they have PFC Jessica Lynch and Kobe Bryant now.

With all the movies and special effects, hot babes, and great tunes, who wants to see Sly go back in the ring.

Unless he dies a brutal death, but it would have to be awesome with special affects :-)

It is sad to ruin a great set of films. They should have stopped at 3 (Maybe even stopped after the first). Rocky was a great film due to it not really being about boxing but about a mans struggle to achieve his actual goals in life.

Every few years Stallon generates Rocky/Rambo sequel rumors to keep his fading name in the papers.

Stallone is STRAIGHT TO VIDEO in hollywood these days so you can forget it.

Sly prolly has a built in dick pump, his demands his ladies have a low percent of body fat, then he goes off and gains 40lbs to play a backhick country sheriff in a movie few years back.

All his movies are bombs, and doing from spy kids 3 to Rocky is a big jump. He needs to fade, or at least take better parts like our bad boy Bruce Willis, who has proven to do some nice drama.

I think Sly will do the Rocky 6, but he needs to die, that would be something I would be willing to watch.

I thought the self-deprication was tastefully done and funny. He knows you can't take it too seriously. While Rocky will fight someone, I seriously doubt it's going to be for the Heavyweight Championship.

He also said Mr. T was written into the screenplay with a small part.

Because Rocky was an Oscar winner, he was given rave reviews for his performance as the overweight hick sherrif in Copland, First Blood was an excellent flick, F.I.S.T was good as was The Lords of Flatbush.

The guy has been a critical success and a box office success.

His Rocky films among others have generated impressive dollars at the box office.

Not every single one of his films were successes of course, but he has had a VERY successful career and did his job which was to just entertain.

Hell I even loved one of his worst rated films and that's the movie Oscar. Only because of what they tried to do and almost suceeded.

And that was to shoot a film entirely as it would have been shot in the 40's using nothing but backlot locals and street scenes.

It was silly, but entertaining and that's all I care about in the end.

There is a Rambo 4?

I see in Walmart they are selling the Rambo movies for $5.88.

IN Rocky 5 I think Sly ended up whooping ass granted he was mentoring another fighter.

I love the Rocky series and there is not a whole lot left he could do to spice up Rocky 6 story-line wise.
