I have the 2001 model and it is a piece of shit. Already has had 6 recalls, been back to the dealer 4 times, and there is a huge class action lawsuit against Ford for the braking system...basically, I have to get my rotors replaced every 20,000 to 25,000 miles.

lol my friend been driving one all week causes his car is in the shop, what a p.o.s, the emergency light button is huge cant miss it, wonder why that is, and the 10 dollor stero with quick release dash so no one can steal it, funny that we probably had more fun in this thing than his car. die laughing at how pathetic a car can really be.

My GF has one... it's God-awful. 5 major recalls, totally unreliable, it's like 2 years old and left her stranded on the highway before. Ford has some huge quality control issues these days, other folks I know who've bought from them are all complaining.Comment

Since you don't seem to care much about what a car looks like, how about getting a Honda Accord or Civic? Not a top of the line car, but they are durable and last forever. And you won't have
problems with the rotors/engines whatever like the Ford Focus.
I know people that have old Accords with over 100,000 miles on them and they run fine with barely any maintenace, they last forever if you want a cheap and durable car.
Also very good on gas! It's not a "bling bling" car, but still less embarassing than a Focus!Comment
