The entire Mahayana (prajna-paramita), & Vajrayana Buddhist canons.. tens of thousands of pages written over the last 3000 years.. are devoted to attempting to explain that question in a discursive fashion, and they all come to the conclusion that it is impossible, that only direct perception can answer it.

                                                      So you could, at least in theory, answer it. But if you did, you'd never be able to explain it to someone else.. you'd only be able to point them to the method you used to acheive your understanding.
