Well folks... as some of you know. I just got out of the hospital. I had a car crash wednesday evening.
My Jeep YJ (wrangler) had a mechanical failure. I lost control of the vehicle - sped over a crash barrier at 40kmph, fliped end over end 4 times - and managed to crawl out of it while it was leaking gas with on some bruises and tissue damage.
My Jeep rollbar, and my seatbelt saved my life. And thus I will always be a seatbelt Nazi from now on.
If that would have happened in a Toyota corola - I would have died. I owe my life to the safety of that vehicle - and my seatbelt.
I have pics I will post soon. The vehicle looks like a ... well a wet noodle. It was once a gorgous beast. Now it is scrap metal. Everyone is suprised I lived. Everyone tells me to count my blessings. So I will. It truly was a miricle no one else was hurt. The busiest intersection in Nanaimo had NO oncoming cars. It was weird.
Anyways - I am alive and well. Sore, on percacet and demerol - but alive and that is all that matters.
Thought I would share so some people didn't think I screwed off already. Yes, you're stuck with me more yet.
A special thank you to these people, who will also get a mention in the newpaper: Nanaimo fire and rescue services. Nanaimo Police, and the kind 5 citizens that helped me to my feet and dialed 911.
