Globill rebills and actual members: what to do?cancel?

Obviously shit news, but we have either to go on or shut down.

I don't blame Globill as such for stopping processing ( I blame VISA ).

But I do blame Globill from preventing us to acces our stats including emails of our members. This, Globill, has no class...

We could contact our members and offere them an incentive to rejoign with another processor ( I have an account with Ibill: Yes, KimmyKim, I paid to make a Us corporation and yes I paid the $ 750.00 fee; so no, I am not the fucking cheapskate you think all foreign webmasters are ).

But we are locked out of all features except members management.

Since I doubt that any money will be paid ( 6-8 weeks AFTER sept. 15th), why should I still give access to the members, unless I could get them to rejoign NOW at a lower rate ( to compensate the first initial globill charge).

At this point, I will think about this tonight ( going to see the Johny Deep movie) and will probably decide:

    - cancel all users

    - Put a page explaining why ( on the 500 error also)

    - Telling them to either join again for initial 60 days, then rebill with Ibill).

    - Otherwise, telling them they have no access and to charge back the fee.

I know that Asspimple is stoopid ... As he says, it is a FACT !

But I can't figure out how he can breathe or type , at the same time ....

Dude, I hate to piss on your parade, but don't count on getting any money.

You are doing this legit, so you want a legit solution.
What I would do is set up a special price for your globill members. Not your whole site...keep your join pages the same.
But, e-mail your globill members and put a link to the globill cancel page. Tell them to go there to cancel.

Then, have another link in the e-mail saying "Click here to signup for 1/2 the price" and maybe recurr it to the full price at the end of the month. Just make sure they know.....

You will lose members, but if your site is good they will rejoin. This sucks for all the recurring members who are too lazy to cancel, or don't remember what site they joined.

    Good luck!

        ...But, e-mail your globill members
I normally don't quote myself ( I leave that to other well know posters .. lol) but I wrote this in regard to payments:

Since I doubt that any money will be paid ...
I do not have the emails of my users, and if you go on the links of the only Globill page, you get:

        File Not Found

        --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

        The referring document was: https://stats.globill-systems.com/cg...s/wm_login.cgi

The requested object does not exist at the specified location. The link you followed is either outdated, inaccurate, or the server has been instructed not to let you have it.

So I think it will be CANCEL and CHARGEBACK time. I myself am a member of my own site. I will chargeback monday.

That sucks. I haven't gone into the Gobill admin area, fuck 'em.

Maybe put something up in your members area.

"If you signed up with Globill, click here for important billing information"

Then tell them how to cancel and rejoin. Either way, you are going to lose members. But you can try hard to keep the ones you want. I wouldn't write them all off, some will rejoin. $20/day is better than $0/day.

            pOOp, you are right.

I know which members are Ibill, so I will make an regular entrance for them.

The others, Globill, will enter my members site, but just the an explanation and join page ( cgi modification and htaccess should do that). From that page , they can rejoign. In other words, unless they rejoign, theuir out.

I have a very high retention ( average of 5.4 rebills before cancell, so ...) this is why I do care... I hope Ibill will not go belly up also, because then I will have to follow them and fuck somebody...

Honestly, this ss was fun; now it stinks like a dead roadside skunk!

The user download function was returning a 404 error. but it seems to work now. I just downloaded my user list.

Can iBill or CCbill easily transfer these users to them?!

Sadly no... they don't "belong" to another processor.

To get the email addresses of your subscribers:

                  Log in to your stats.

Click on "User List" top right.

Choose encrypted or not, as you wish...

Make sure to choose "all data" instead of just un:pw.

                  Click "Generate List".

I have no problem viewing the results, which includes their email address.

That's a killer retention, nearly 6 months. Ours is only about 3-4. I miss DMR, it was always over 95%.

what I would do... What I did when DMR went under...

Create a new member's area for new signups with your new processor. Make your 401 (unauthorized) page be the old member's area, so you catch old members.

Keep your old member's area open for 30 days. After 30 days replace the old member's home page with a page that says "sorry, your account has been cancelled, you are not being billed. sign up now at a special discounted price..."

That's about the best you can do.

If you have access to your email db of course spam the members, but be sure to keep the old member's area open or you'll piss off people and they won't sign up with you again.
