Um, guys? I think the key word here is "suspect."
          ----------
An 82-year-old man charged Tuesday with making child pornography died at the Toronto (Don) Jail last night.

Sergeant Rick Downs of 55 Division said it appeared that Kurt Alfred Frenkel died of natural causes, but he added that the matter is under investigation.

A jail guard told the Star last night Frenkel had just arrived from a court appearance in a van with other prisoners when he collapsed in a holding cell in the centre's basement.

Emergency services were called to jail about 7 p.m.

Sergeant Daniel Powell said paramedics in contact with a doctor at Sunnybrook hospital pronounced the man dead at the jail after their attempts to revive him failed. An autopsy was to be held today.

At a court appearance Tuesday, Frenkel seemed confused and indicated to the judge he was hard of hearing, the Star's Betsy Powell reported.

Frankel was arrested after Toronto police seized about 500,000 pornographic images from an apartment on Bloor St. E. this week.

The material included photos, negatives, slides and magazines dating from the 1950s to the 1990s, Staff Inspector Bruce Smollet told a news conference Tuesday.

Many of the images were of children, he said.
          ----------------

So, how many of you have received the CP emails with spoofed addies from CCBill etc? Any one of us could be found to have thousands, even hundreds of thousands of legitimate, legal, pornographic images on our computers, and if you've received those spams and haven't completely purged them, it could be said that "many of the images were of children."

I'm not defending the guy; if he was guilty then, hey, Karma's a bitch. But don't be so quick to jump on the witch-hunt bandwagon.

Mishi you must have not read the paragraph above. Keywords: negatives, slides, and magazines. Dating from the 50s to the 90s. If he wasn't producing child porn now he was up to the 90s. And if he was never producing, then why have negatives to begin with?

Maybe he owned the apartment but rented it out to someone and his last tenant left all this stuff there? I mean shit, he's a suspect. No matter what the article says about what was found, that doesnt mean he did a damn thing.

Just like they can't sell drugs you mean?

But aside from that, it could be that the guy had been collecting mainstream porn for 50 years. Problem with that is that a few decades ago some mainstream porn included minors, since there weren't any adequate laws yet. The guy could've had it without even knowing some of the porn he had included children. Innocent until proven guilty isn't that bad a motto.

A suspect... At least he has something to do with it, I can't imagine getting busted if you have never ever seen CP in your live before, that makes no sense. Could be coincidence though.

Your statement makes no sense, you don't even know the facts behind it, nor do I. But he's dead now anyway, that's for sure
