God is the ultimate soul, but what are souls other than ghosts? Philosophers have called the soul "the ghost in the machine" (the machine being the corporeal body). How a ghost controls a machine is an interesting question, which is why there are very few dualist philosophers. Most believe either that everything is ghostly (spirit, idea) or everything is material (matter, solid stuff).
