U.S Immigration sucks!!!

Yeah that's right! I was scheduled to leave for Miami on Sunday morning and of course I was bombarded with questions and detained for hours and then told to go home we don't want u in the U.S. for SIX MONTHS!!!!! Stupid bitch!!!

So, for all of u that I was looking forward to meeting and seeing again, have a cold one for me while you're there!!!!

As, for alternatives to crossing, I've been through everything that is possible....although, there is one option left and I'm crossing my fingers in hopes that it'll work...

I know what you mean I just got back from Miami and when I crossed in windsor I was stop for over an hour and all they asked was DO YOU HAVE ANY BEEF!!! what the hell....and why can't you stay in Canada for your Vaction. All I have to say to them is up yours fat ass bitch....plus I had a burger in the car and the assholes tossed it out on me........but it was funny as hell when I told them what I do for a living the looks I got...Let's just I wish I took my Camera in with me...............

What are you guys talking about? One or more of you is not telling the whole story because I just crossed over from Windsor a few days ago with two gigantic steaks left over from a meal at the Lumberjack. They threw out your hamburger? Were you acting like an asshole?

No I am not kidding and Know I was not acting like an asshole!!!! it was about 2:30 am It was me and my roommate two young guys 25 years of age, so I guess they were thinking we had a wack of pot or somthing. It is a good thing we chickened out at the last min....... and left it in Canada. P.S. I hope everyone has a great time next week I wish I could go back.

Mine wasn't that dramatic...but they didn't like the length of stay and thought I was going there to work without a visa...

I'm not bashing americans, I'm just stating that they spend so much time on simple innocent people, like myself who was just going on vacation and yet I'm sure tons of crazy dealers or criminals get thru without flinching...

My sister and I went through customs together some years ago, at the time she was 18.
The customs guy started off with a pretty bad attitude and asked all kinds of weird questions.
Then he asked why we chose to go to the US on our honeymoon.
Both me and my sisters started laughing our ass off, and he looked all pissy.
"That's my sister" and the guy turned bright red and stamped our passports faster than hell

I am an american citizen by birth, and wanted to say that I am sorry that you were treated that way...

This same type of shit is happening to people that are residents here. My wife can not go to see her mother until she gets her citizenship. But now they are telling us she should get it in the next 10 years...

You know my bad experience was before 9/11. I cross the boarder regularly because I am visiting my boyfriend in the states.
No problems until I get the 8 month pregnant US customs lady with nails 2 inches long and a nasty attitude.
She first starts off with the regular questions and then asks me who paid for the ticket...which I am glad to say my boyfriend did...becaue he is a sweetheart.
She gives me this look, and says something to the fact of why would he spend that much money for a weekend trip...DUHHHH....
Well I think my comment back was laughing said because I am worth it.
She then directs me to the US immigration office, they take alook at my carry on and give me the whole qustioning again.
You know...those US immgiration officier I understand have a job to do, but please if you don't get any or your BABY's Daddy won't talk to you or even think you are worth a dinner a IHOP don't take it out on the rest of us.

exactly, I am usually the first to support the U.S and I am also the first to embrace americans when they are here visiting....no need for the unnecessary comments...besides u should be glad that we want to come over and spend our $$$ seeing as how your US dollar has been falling...we are neighbours and should be on good terms I don't see why it has to be so hostile...i understand the strictness at the borders but do they really have to be so nasty???? especially when it comes to black balling people for life..

All that falls into oblivion - same as all the other treaties and the economy when there is an idiot supposedly "leading". The US is no longer a country that is trusted - it has the ranking of a rogue state.

Other countries, at least yet, have not reached the level of paranoia which exisits in the States, - else we would be giving US citizens a DNA test as well.

There are two sides to this, one is *genuine* defence which is reasonable, - the other is a persistance in "control" which was already over the top. Genuine defence has become the "excuse" for control.

I used to visit the US regularly, both for biz and to see friends. Now I have no wish to land on *any* US territory,- I don't need the crap. Friends "escape" the US and visit us instead. Hell, that even applies to others non "US citizens" visiting, who flew with a dropdown in the US - they avoid any contact and fly direct now.

The comments from Thunderball are where much of the world gets it's "perceptions" of the US - popcorn culture populated by dumbos - sad shit!

I had a similar incident about 2 year ago just after 911. I was flying down to visit family and drive my Dad's SUV back that was up for it's lease.

When I got to immigration, they lambasted me with questions for an hour and finally said no go. Basically for the same reasons they told you. I lost my ticket too as the flight operator said it was out of their control and no refund could be issued.

Ever since then I have never had a problem, but it really sucks when it happens to you.
