    Fuck... rackmount gurus help

    I found this today... http://www.rackmount.com/RackSvr/Col...r1220-EIDE.htm

and it's perfect... except, no audio. Anyone got links to something very similar in a 1U or 2U with either onboard audio, or preferably, a second open pci?

I am VERY picky.... this is for my audio rack, and while I don't need it to serve up porn sites, I do need it to fit specific criteria... basically, everything you see in the details on that link there, except, I can give up the CD ROM if I have to... and I need audio either installed (pci card audio, not that on-board shit) and one free pci slot... and it needs to support Win2KPro... and the outer finish of course, already mentioned.

19" rackmount. Preferably 1U. Willing to go to 2U.

If your super anal about music you dont want an on-board soundcard.

Check out m-audio www.m-audio.com they have some firewire/usb audio solutions and there quality is pro not consumer.

I personaly have 4 delta 10/10's in my main audio box (40 ins 40 outs..)

                AMP,

Just get that box, and put the sound card of your choice in the PCI expansion slot.

I'm like, audiophile in extremis.... you have no idea how anal I am about this stuff... and no, I don't want on-board if there's any way to avoid it. Sorry, but the stuff on that site doesn't really help me.

Its just a small breakout box

                      It might be overkill though

                      Hmmm
                      7.1 surround?

more like this... note the embedded rackmount system in the wall there...

anyway... that's why it needs to be black anodized or brushed... nice finish.... don't really need a super server... just a basic relatively fast system, with a couple open slots. I already got everything else... the cpu unit is the last piece I gotta shop for.

If you can fit a 4U you should have no problems whatsoever, but if a 2U is what you need, I believe you can get some with 2 PCI slots on the riser card... a 4U would be ideal tho... looks like that shelving has room for a 4U
