In the United States a trike can be flown as an "ultralight." The FAA governs ultralights under Federal Aviation Regulation 103. FAR 103 states that an FAA pilot?s license is not required to fly an ultralight. Nor must the flying machine be certified by the government.

You can't fly it over a city though. But really, once in a while how would they find out? I can get from a congested city to a rural area around here within 10-15 minutes. Just say you took a wrong turn
