I've solved America's drug problem!
I was thinking about how stupid keeping cancer and glaucoma patients from using medicinal marijuana is, and I fucked around and solved the whole drug problem! Let me break it down for ya:
They're spending around 10 billion dollars a year fighting drugs, not counting the money they'd save if the huge number of people in prison for possession were let out. Lotsa money, that's what I'm getting at!
It's not doing any damn good. Being illegal makes drugs expensive - being expensive makes it worth the risks of smuggling/dealing. Being expensive makes addicts turn to crime to pay for drugs.
We need to legalize some recreational drugs and sell them in liquor stores, with heavy taxes. They'd still be cheap compared to now. Everytime this comes up there's some loser that says "Then EVERYBODY would use drugs!" Then I say to the loser, "would you?" and he realizes how stupid that idea is. People that want to use drugs do. The fact that it's illegal just makes it cooler, that's why the kids are always getting fucked up.
Now the Gov't is not only saving billions, they're making billions more! What they do is have VOLUNTARY drug testing for anyone that wants it, if you're "clean" you get a cut of some of that cash! Every few months you can go in and pee in a cup, and if you're one of the majority of folks that aren't interested in stonin' you get a little reward.
Would it stop drug use? Of course not, nothing will. If you think drugs are different from alcohol you're in fantasy-land. What it would do is pay for programs to help people who need it, cut down on crime, and make those of us who don't need any help happy. God bless America, baby!
