Wow. I have a friend who's exhusband kicked in both doors to her house, broke two windows out, told the next door neighbor he'd gut him with a pocket knife, and then jumped up on the hood of her car in the parking lot of an Applebees, with the two of us sitting in it, and kicked the windshield in with his foot.
I think he had to pay for the damage, court costs, and talk to some court counselor for about 45 mins, and that was it. I don't think anybody goes to jail here for breaking stuff.
