      because it has the most software for it, some of which are 100% necessary for the operations that i run, and i can still communicate with *nix boxs via ssh.

      windows work great if you know how to secure it and keep it running. i have a 3 week straight uptime on this machine. which is pretty good for a windows desktop that gets used as much as this one.

                  A hahahahahahaha!

                  SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

                    For the non Technical
                    127.0.0.1 = Local Host
                    Or your machine...

                    What you are essentialy doing by telling your host file to re-route swoit.com to 127.0.0.1 is to display nothing (as there is nothing on your local host unless your running a web server)

                    I used to do this back when x-10 adds where all over the place, a small change to local host and I never saw them..

                    B.T.W. x-10's suck..
