Google puts a lot of emphasis on backlinks from other high PR sites

www.subliminal-messages.com is the #1 ranking. Now do the same search in Google. The same site is ranked #97. I know Yahoo has a different algorithm and all, but from what I know this site is optimized pretty well for Google. So how can this happen?
