What do you think of BowFlex?

Just wondering what your thoughts are on this piece of equipment?

Has anyone bought it / used it?

I remember it was pushed quite heavily on TV when I was in Hawaii last year, I see them for sale on ebay, but still dont' know what to make of it, the concept seemed a little irrational to me!

if you don't want to go work out at a gym the bowflex might be your best bet for a home gym.

I'm not interested in buying it, just curios what people think about it, I remember watching the adds on TV and thinking what a load of crap (yeah right!), I recently saw a bunch of them for sale on Ebay, so wondering what people here thought of them

I have been thinking about getting one of these, I have a gym membership and I just don't have the time to go. Well when it is good for the gym as well.

The past few months I have been doing pushups/situps each night and all that stuff so I know I'll use it. I figure that I'll just find one in the local paper or something.

Is there any benefit to a bowflex (other than saving space) over that of a normal workout type machine?

Personally, I prefer the solo-flex -- much easier to use, setup, and requires less space. The bow-flex doesn't seem to offer the resistance throught the range as the solo-flex bands. Plus, you can add an additional 400# to the solo-flex attachments.

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

Go Swimming if you want to work out hardcore.

Water offers the meanest resistance out there. I saw pics where Muhammad Ali was practing by sparring underwater up to his neck. I tried it ( NOT a muhammad Ali by any stretch of the imagination) it was a wicked workout.

I was looking into buying it myself. The concept is great and looks like the only all-purpose work-out machine that gives you complete freedom of movement without the risk of breaking your back.

Obviously this is not for pro weightlifter giants but more for the average person that doesn't have time to do the gym thing and still wants to buff up that spare tire and more.

I have one, and look at me. Seriously, it is flimsy. At home, I have a home gym by "hoist". Can do everything that the bowflex can, bit more $, but well worth it. Almost commercial quality.

Cool, so I've got a response from someone who actualy bought one.

What made you buy it Brad?

Has anyone else purchased it? Is it working as expected?
