What do amateur models get paid?

It varies, what kind of pics? How many rolls shot? where they are shot?

Anyway, a ballpark idea for a simple, softcore, 4 to 8 roll shoot is $50-$200 for males and $200-$500 for females.

The money sounds about right...... but what do you mean "rolls" Wizzo?
If you're using 35mm film for pics that will be used on the internet then your thowing away alot of money.
Because not only are you going to have to pay for film processing but it also costs a lot of money to scan film on to cd in jpeg format......which is pretty much the only format that you will be able to scan them too.
My advice, use a digital camera! You can easily take 100 pics and save them.

And now that I think about it, I never have paid a model more than $200 for a hardcore photoshoot using a DV camcorder, but I would if I had to.

So do you guys hit these chicks up at strip clubs? Where do you find your material?

I'm just imagining asking people at random, "Hey sweetie, wanna come back to my place and shoot some porn so I can exploit you all over the internet?" I have an idea in mind what the average reaction would be.

Anyway, Aplrodite and I have talked about it several times. We just have no idea how to approach someone.

You need to be really carful about doing anything in Oklahoma. I've had 2 webmasters from there arrested for shooting movies and pics Both of these guys were stand up people, and where above board on everything. There are some really crazy law's in your state the might come back and bite you in the ass. So be careful !!

Sounds pert cheap on the males Wizzo, after all they are doing the real work to make that puppy stand up, so they should at least get equal pay.

I should think that the more odd or hardcore would increase the pay, especially if the pics are going to be allowed to be resold to other content providers! Or on multiple sites etc. After all the models are making it possible and should be recompensed in direct relation to the money their images will make for the photog.

And Oklahoma?? *shudder*. If we ever take a road trip West to see my birthplace, I'll make him drive around that state!!

I just got lucky. I used to be roomates w/ stripper for 3 years, also a close friend. She's still strippin' at one of the top clubs here, but wants to get into the biz. So I offered her a percentage if she takes care of all the content. Roundin' up the ladies, getting the pics taken, etc. She's totally into it, so we shall see. She also has a shitload of pics & vids of herself she's willing to put up from an old site that never took off.

I'm meeting w/ her tommorrow to get all the facts down & if she's still willin' we'll have to get a contract drawn up. I'm keepin' my fingers crossed. That'd be perfect to have a female in charge of all that!

I pay my models according to the type of work they're doing for me. My pay scale starts at $30 per hour for bikini & lingerie pics, $50 per hour for topless, and $75 per hour for nude, paid in cash at the end of each shoot. I currently don't do xxx of any kind, but if I did, I'd pay the models $150 an hour, but I've really never been all that interested in those types of shoots, I'll leave that up to the paysites. I do require the models to sign a legal contract, and they must show me proof that they are indeed 18 or older. When I pay them, they must sign a reciept, and they get their cash in full.

Camera -- Digital all the way, no question. I was using the kodak dc 210 plus, and now I mostly use my new Toshiba 3.3 megapixel, it even shoots up to 5 minutes of video
I keep it on the higher res setting, I take 55 shots and then connect to the usb and download them in seconds. Then I shoot another 55, and so on until the shoot is done. The pics are huge and clear, and I edit them later and size them down for the net with Paint Shop Pro 7.

As for recruiting new talent, I use a few different methods. If I run out of new faces, I'll either offer my existing models a small referral fee for finding me someone suitable, or I'll run an ad in the local paper. My ad says something like

"Models wanted: part time modeling assignments now available for women 18 - 40, experienced or not. Categories include bikini & lingerie shoots, all local, $30 to $75 per hour (cash) call: (phone #)"

Once the girls start calling (and they do, tons of em) I put my cordless head-set phone too good use, and I qualify them, one by one. I set up a template file, and I ask them some basic questions over the phone, such as their stats (ht, wt, measur.) and if they are exp or not, and I keep it brief. Then I set up a meeting with the ones I think might be what I'm looking for, and for the meetings I pretty much set aside 2 evenings, and I offer them a choice of times on those evenings. I allow each girl 20 minutes or so, and I slot them in. The meeting is usually at a local coffee shop so they aren't coming to my home, and they seem to feel more comfortable in a public setting, especially if the model is brand new to all this. I have a quick talk with them, and a good look at them, and if I like what I see, I book them for a shoot. If I don't, I simply tell them that I now have their info, and if anything comes up I will call them, and I thank them for coming. I don't like to offend anyone or make them feel innadequate in any way, so that is the way I leave it with those that don't qualify.

Most if not all the girls will ask about the pay, and I tell them it's $30 an hour for bikini & lingerie. Many of them ask about the "up to $75 an hour" part, and I tell them that I have a limited amount of work in the topless and full-nude area of modeling, but that it's not necessary,...but if they seem interested, I offer that work to them

After I work with them a few times, there are girls that will only do the bikini and lingerie stuff, but for the ones that are doing the nude content, I would then sound them out as to their willingness to do the xxx. I must stress here that you really have to be a good judge of character soas not to offend anyone. I like to see if I can get THEM to ask me the big question "well, is there any way I can make even MORE money??" ...and there you have it, a few models that will do it all for you.

Many of my models talk to their friends about this, and I haven't had to run a newspaper ad in over a year now because of those referrals. And, above all, discretion, good judgement and professionalism are the key here at all times. I haven't directly approached a girl in a bar yet about this, but if I did I would have a good professional-looking business card handy for sure. I've been out with a female, and had the female go talk to someone about modeling, and that has brought in some success as well, but it's not something I would do too often. Better to have them come to you.

No, actually I've only gotten guy's work in the acting field, and for amateur acting they get paid far less than the female leads, nature of the game I'm afraid.

If I was to photograph guys for my own content, I'd likely pay them $75 per hour for nude, but for xxx I'd pay them the same, which is about half of what the female makes.
Reason -- There are a lot of guys who would actually do it for free

Nice touch CD. I have seen some so called photogs brush off rather brusquely the girls they weren't interested in. I never have considered that as very professional.

I pay $50/hr for stills, $50 1/2-hr for video. I was told by a loca attorney once that paying more for one thing than another could be interpreted as "tit-for-tat" and might become an element in a bust, so I pay flat and take whatever the model will give. I shoot mainly softcore with just a bit of dabbling in female (always female) masturbation and girl/girl, which I suppose some people call hardcore. (I call it medium-core).

Instead of luring girls with big cash, I find it's more economical to spend money on advertising to find girls who'll work for less.

I like working with girls who do it because they think it's fun instead of girls who look upon it as work. This kind of girl doesn't need so much money.
