    Is Dutch Billing insane?

Cost more and you are not allowed to have a backup!

    ---------------------
Part of first mail from Dutch Billing:

Rates are increased with another 3% charge on your volume for
both credit card and check transactions. Also the holdback has
been changed to 20% as a 6 months rolling reserve.
    -----------------
    Second mail

    Dear Merchants,

There has recently been questions from Webmasters over the amendment stating
that you must use DutchBilling as your exclusive billing service on your site(s).

After speaking to our legal department, we have decided the following rules
will apply to this new amendment:

In the following 24 hours, all webmasters who are using other billing services
    must
eliminate these services from their sites, or stop their business relationship
    with us.

The following will also not be allowed; If you have your own billing platform
    then
your contract with Dutch Billing will be terminated, this can either be initiated
    by
yourself or by our organization. We will also not be continuing business with
webmasters who are creating serperate pages with other billing platforms.

For example, You are not allowed to have DutchBilling on one page and
have another page with another billing agency on it.

Separate join pages will also not be allowed. For example, ww2.sitename.com
    will not be allowed.

The above rules do not apply to dialers.

After the 24 hour time span, we will be checking your sites. If we see a billing
platform other than the DutchBilling platform, you will be put on unauthorized
and your contract will be terminated with our organzation. Your sites will be
checked at various times (also in the weekends). If you are caught with another
billing platform you will be put on unauthorized and your contract will be terminated.

If you have any questions or comments concerning this matter please feel free
    to
    contact our organization.

    With Regards,
    Dutch Billing Legal Department
    Dutch Billing Staff

When they terminate you...do they pay the outstanding revenue's? Or is this a way to make a few fast bucks of webmasters?

I don't know as I never joined them as I smelld something bad. Their site looks as a cheap copy of Verotel. They should be careful as Holland has law and order and they should be out of business soon if they try to steal any money from webmasters.

On new contracts, yes, old running contracts: NO .Webmasters must accept the new contract. Before that they can not take anyting. Just ask the webmaster to leave and pay in full according to the running contract.

Don't they also terminate if your rebilling is more than your new sales, or if you aren't doing $1000 a week in sales? It sounds like they don't want to be in business.

How do they pay in full a recurring membership? What was their reserve before, and do you get it back in six months or whatever the period was? If not, that is stealing. There's more to it, too, read their amendment:

The following amendments and modifications are in force per June 1st 2003:

Clients need to use Company's services DutchBilling Credit Card Service, DutchBilling Subscription Management and DutchBilling Check, as the exclusive services for clients website(s). No other companies, competitive to Company, should be represented on clients website(s).

Starting the second quarter of 2003, Client's average volume per month, in this quarter, will be measured. If Client's gross average volume of DutchBilling Credit Card Service and DutchBilling Check together does not exceed USD 1,000 (one thousand US Dollars), this agreement will be terminated according to Article 10 of this agreement.

If the total amount of recurring transactions from DutchBilling Credit Card Service and DutchBilling Check services together, in one calendar month, exceeds the number of new transactions from DutchBilling Credit Card Service and DutchBilling Check services together, this agreement will be terminated according to Article 10 of this agreement.

All Clients will be paid weekly. Clients can opt for biweekly payments or for a payment every 4 weeks in the Dutch Billing Control Center. All clients entered this agreement on June 1st 2003 and beyond will not receive any payments in the first four weeks of operation.

Client's Resellers will be paid every four weeks. Client's Resellers cannot opt for a weekly or biweekly payment.

On all clients website(s) a fully working email address should be stated on the front page of this website. All support requests from both Companies customer service or from any enduser should be answered within 1 (one) business day. Also, Client will give full password control over their website(s) to Company. Failure in compliance with this will terminate this agreement according to Article 10 of this agreement.

                hahahaha=

So if you don't make $1K a month or more, get more rebills than signups, you get terminated. Bigger question is this a freak occurence or a harbinger of things to come??

I am glad they cancelled my account last month. I got my outstanding payments when I called them and they set my account to cancelled.

If you cancel yourself the account is put to cancelled and you will receive the funds they owe you. If they terminate you your funds will be frozen until you call them.

I would be very interested if Verotel has the same policy now as Dutchbilling is a Verotel Reseller.

This new policy is just stupid and I would think everyone needs to run from them as fast as you can. Noone can be expected to keep all the stuff they ask for:

New webmaster starting a site and getting 1000 bucks the first month? I doubt they see any new webmaster any time soon.

Rebills exeeding signups and you get cancelled? So basically if you stop a site you automatically loose all your rebills. I would loose them now instead of later. Just think about a network outage of a couple of days and you are done.

Man that dutch weed must gotten to them now.

I just thought that thing thru.

All my sites have a bigger recurring income than signups. I think that's the usual way if you run a site with good members retention. Members just keep getting more and more.

So I guess as a dutchbilling customer you need to cancel rebillings on the 30th of each month now to keep your billing.

I am currently rolling on the floor laughing about a so called company policy

I don't see anything about reselling Verotel on Verotel's site, and their agreement does not have that amendment (thanks for the scare though ) DutchBilling looks a little...unofficial. Aside from being a carbon copy of Verotel's site layout with a little less design in it, there's no address or anything on the front. These rules seem to be more aimed at preventing customers from using both Verotel and Dutchbilling.

I think Dutchbilling is the last billing recource for a lot of sites. Bestiallity sites are probably the most known niche here. If they are going down as I think those policies indicate the internet might get a little more difficult for those sites.

I can't believe the balls of some of these companies. Bullshit regulations, fee increases, and god knows what else. If I even thought of pulling shit on my customers - providing they could go elsewhere - then I'd be out of business so fast, my head would spin. Some companies and people can get away with anything - talk about being crooked, it's a fucking conspiracy.

Uhm, when I get an ACH for pushing sites using Dutchbilling, guess who sends them to me. Verotel.

Dutchbill IS Verotel. Its half Cybermedia (Hans Burger) and half Verotel.
