Is it worth the cost and time to film exclusive content for a new site that's starting out small?

Yes, new exclusive content makes big difference in sales. Shooting your own is definetely worth doing.

Yes but only for large sites. It's not worth shooting/buying exclusive for smaller sites.

No, surfers don't care if the site has exclusive content.

The Boneprone Family is slipping into unconsciousness unto a realm beyond the walk and the talk, beyond the sands of time and space, and into the hands of binary companionship, holding the answers and washing the questions in glistening streams of urine -- all linked together by the sweet beleif that they are something special.

            thanks BVF.
I quit the day job a while back and I do OK in this biz fulltime and I've been able to scrape together some cash and now I'm just looking at making more money.

My budget is just under $10k which I think is enough for a small site but I dont want to take any risks in investing in something that could wipe me out if it fails or I make bad decisions.

What kind of site do you want to open? Movie, hardcore, softcore, niche?

Say you want to start a softcore teen site.

You can get exclusive teen picture sets for about $300 a pop.

Buy 10 of those. $3k for 1,000 exclusive pics, give or take.

Now buy some non-exclusive teen bulk deals. Maybe $3k worth. Should be able to get about 50,000 pics depending on where you go.

                Now hire a good designer...$1k

Have him design your site focusing on your exclusive girls but also mentioning that you have 50k pics in the members area.

Set up a webmaster program. You can release pics from those 10 exclusive sets, watermarked with your url, as free content for affiliates.

Use the remaining $3k for hosting, VISA fees, and to buy traffic.

I assume you have your own traffic to send to the site as well. If all goes well, reinvest your gross each month to cover hosting and invest in more content. Update often. Update the tour. Eventually you will be pulling in a profit above your fixed expenses that you can invest in other projects or pocket.

Get a good host for your members area and tour, and get a cogent host for your movie galleries and trailers or anything else, you will save a bundle.

i'd think about buying a mix of exclusive and non-exclusive, that fit together well. i'd also keep the stuff currently making you money in place as much as possible, while you launch this new site.

i hope your new venture works out for you Marcus

80% of people who've voted say exclusive content is worth the investment.

There are lots of advantages to it, only disadvantage is seeing money go out that could have gone right in your pocket. But that's short term.

what niche? photos or videos? both?
I moved my sites to Vacares Hosting. I've saved money, my hair is thicker, lost some weight too! Thanks Sly!

Depends on what you are trying to build. I shot exclusive content only for my very first site, because I wanted to build a branded unique site with member loyalty.

Can you imagine BangBus using non-exclusive content???

On the other hand, mine are niche sites. If you are building a POV blowjob site or something that has 100,000 versions out there, you should be able to slip in a lot of non-exclusive content.

Its all about the site and what works for the theme you are going for.

Bottom line though, is you have to take risk. For my first site I shot 30 movies at about $1,000 each before I opened the url. So I was out 30 grand, not even counting servers, development, etc. Its like any other business - you invest a potload of money and hope like hell you choose wisely.
