Just got Tivo. What the fuck have I been doing without it up till now! This thing rocks! NO more watching live tv ever! No more commercials. I'm free! I'm free! hahaha .. Guys I suggest you run out and buy this thing or one like it. Mine records up to 6 channels at once while I can be watching another one. Cool shit.

We don't have tivo in Australia, recording 6 channels simultaneously sounds pretty cool... it's got a HD to store everything, right?
I have a DVD recorder which has similar functionality, I can record a program off TV while I'm watching another section of the DVD. It's DVD-RAM so it's a random access format (UDF), which means I can stop recording, eject the disc, and stick it straight into my computer without needing to finalize the recording. The next model up also comes with an inbuilt HD.

Tivo is the hottest product since the television. I let it record for me when there is programming worth seeing and watch it in those few random moments I have for televison.Comment

I've managed to install an ATI software so I can do the Tivo thing on a computer. Saves me the Tivo monthly fee.
And the record length is as big as my hard drive. With an 80 gig drive, I can record about 140 hours at high quality.icq: 20427689

I'm using an ASUS Pundit system as a MythTV box, and it seriously kicks ass. I also have an UltimateTV from DirecTV/Microsoft which is quite cool as far as retail products go... only downfall to Ultimate is it doesn't have commercial skip -- I'm sure this was a decision to keep advertisers happy

D$ its Time Warner and since you just liver around the block from me I would assume you can get it yourself!
Only thing is it doesnt let you record your stored video onto your vcr. But maybe theres a hack for it or at least there will be eventually.
