    Took already about 12 hours. Capacity - 37 Gb...

        Ahh i hate defragmenting. I left my desktop to do it overnight (8 hours) and was done when I checked it, around 40 gigs, 30 used.

          Ouch. I dread defragging my 120. Took 40 mins to format it.

              too damn slow man,
              possibilities: not defrag. for ages ,
              old hard disk, slow cpu? too much processes in background

                Try logging in in "safe mode" when you defrag. That way there are few programs trying access the drive while it's defragging

                    Norton Speed Disk!

                    And break the large drives up into smaller ones. Speeds up searches on the drive as well.
