Look at the mom in the background. See how heavy she is?
I'd bet you money that she has intense feelings of shame and guilt about being heavy. So in her warped, twisted mind, she transfers these feelings over to her child and feeds her kid as much as *she herself* would like to eat, all the time telling herself that it's okay because "kids are supposed to have baby fat" and "I'm being a good mother by feeding my child".
So she lives out her addiction to food by over-feeding her child and justifies it to herself and at the same time, convinces herself that she's being an excellent mother.
She's sick, she needs psychiatric help. That child will most likely need massive surgery due to her mother's abuse - even if they gave the child to foster parents who got her down to a normal 5-yr old weight of about 35-40 pounds, she'd have so much extra skin it would be dragging the ground behind her. They're going to have to cut it off by the yardlength.
Poor thing.Comment

She's heavy enough to be made fun of and considered "fat" by the majority of society. One of the things I hate about American society - they try to convince you that you're worthless and ugly unless you weigh 115 pounds or less.
And usually they *do* end up convincing you of that for most of your life, causing millions of women unneeded guilt and psychological problems.

That was how I was raised by my mom and grandmother...my mom couldn't binge unless she had me right alongside her, teaching me how to pack it in like she did. As a result, I weighed about 150lbs at age 9. I'm still heavy. And I probably won't ever really be thin, because I was RAISED AND TRAINED FROM BIRTH TO EAT COMPULSIVELY.Originally posted by Carrie

So the dick with the OWN3ED tag needs to go fuck himself -- that little girl has probably been through more in her short young life than you have in yours, seeing as you're more than likely sitting in your momma's basement eating twinkies and sitting on your fat, pimply ass while you make fun of a fat little girl...

That's child abuse.
That mother has some serious fucking problems, that child needs to be taken away from her.
Just because you see a kid thats big like that doesn't make it anyones fault but nature.

As a nurse friend of mine once said (of an adult), "There's no way to become obese on 1000 calories a day." Modify it to 500 for a child and I don't care about genetics, the kid wouldn't way that much.Originally posted by Kanoealoha

How could a parent let their child get that obese is my question? I would take my child to a doctor long before he/she reached 200+!!
Yes, genetics play a part, but it is diet and exercise that can help overcome a problem like this. I guarantee that poor little girl has consumed so many fast food meals and sodas at her age than home cooked meals.
A sad story!Comment

I feel the same way about it...ultimately, the parent is responsible for what gets fed to their child. I'm fat, but I don't want my daughter to end up the same way...so we serve healthy meals, in appropriate serving sizes, at appropriate times. A child isn't going to get that fat if you don't give them access to foods that are either just plain empty-calories junk, or allow them to eat whatever-whenever.Originally posted by TaylorM

There was a story I read -- can't remember the girl's name or I'd google for it -- about a teenager who weighed over 400lbs. She died lying in her own filth on a blanket on the floor in front of the TV, naked because she no longer had any clothes that fit her, surrounded by fast food wrappers and boxes of junk food. Her mother was charged with neglect -- as she should have been. The girl couldn't even get up to go to the bathroom -- there's no way she was supplying that enormous amount of food to herself on her own. Ultimately, the person who enbales a severely morbidly obese person -- child or adult who can't fend for themselves -- is equally to blame for the obese person's condition.<font size="1" font color="black"><i><b>"No pleasure, no rapture, no exquisite sin greater...than central air."</i> -- Dogma</b> ICQ#169.839.131</font>Comment

Yeah I saw something like this before, probably was on Maury, and the mother's were being such stupid fucks, giving it all the "what my kid wants, they get". Feeding them like hell.
Fuckers should have their kid's taken off them for cruelty. I know this probably isn't what's been happening here, but it well pissed me off....

While poor parenting is to blame much of the time, that's not always the case. I saw a similar episode of Maury a few years ago where a mother had her extremely obese child on a very strict diet, and even had him seeing a counselor. She was obviously trying her best, but the kid could still get his hands on food just about any time he wanted. He stole anything he could from the cupboards and fridge, stole from and traded with the kids at school, and would even steal food from stores when he couldn't get it elsewhere. It becomes an obsession, much like a drug addiction. In a case like that, what more can a parent do but lock up all the food in the house and never let your child out of your sight, not even to go to school or play outside? That would be like keeping him/her in a prison.
We are always taught to encourage our children to have "healthy" appetites. But often by the time the parents realize that their child's appetite has become "over-healthy" it's almost too late.See what's new at

In the age of computers, many teens are at home playing games and playing vid games. With the new wave of electronics and technology flying through here, I won't be surprised if the obese population is going to rise.Originally posted by Undutchable

That girl has elephantises desease - And it isn't remotely funny.
She probably eats less calories a day than the average anorexic.
What she is suffering from has not been studdied enough by experts - Most doctors simply (By lack of knowledge and understanding) put it back to the parents for over-feeding.
The chances are this girl will live to be 40 - But will suffer badly every minute because of inane comments - She is also likely to be bedridden by the age of 18.
Pretty sad stuff, really<p><embed width="120" height="60" src="http://www.harlotcash.com/harlot_3.swf"><br>

Well I am not sure the mother could have done much Taylor. If you look in the background, if that is her she could use some education on eating better, adding some exercise, and consulting a doctor on a regular basis herself.Originally posted by TaylorM

My 9 year old niece thinks she is fat already. She started saying she was about a year ago. I am by no means the definition of thin (at least how society defines it) but I can't remember thinking I was fat at 9 years old.
Can anyone else?Comment
