please help me with this video

can anyone please check the video below (3.7 mb). pull up the video and go to file and then properties and tell me what window property size you get?

this is pulling 320x240 for me

well first it's an mpeg so it had to download. (I hate waiting)
Then it opened in my real one player. (Double trouble)

And since my real one player doesn't give me a file>properties I just had to go by what I saw, and it looked very much like 320x240

1. impression under XP if its star in the small play window from the IE (1024x768) properties say 284x260 my friend say he see it in winamp 320x240

There is a tool I use, that you drag and drop the mpeg into the application and it will spit out all its properties (encoding rate. vbr's, aspect ratio, size, audio rates)

Basicly it read's the header information of the mpeg...

Its worth adding to your toolbox...

SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

see all of my machines are pulling 320x240 and i am on os win2000 pro and xp pro.

so i am wondering if codecs on xp home would reduce the window size a bit?

yeah perhaps any problem with the installed plugins i run tsunami filter and divX too perhaps the file will resized that and showing in two diferrent sizes

Very strange..

I have winXP Home - windows media 9 player - the properties show the size is 284x240.

On my MAC, if i play though quicktime the size shows 288x240 ??

I downloaded the medialab software and it does in fact say that the file is 320x240. so why on both my pc and mac am i getting different playback sizes?

Im confused lol

very good question for me to look into....

i will have to go with my window size. i encoded it at 320x240 and thought i was losing it there.

now to figure out why it would pull differently for different people.....im thinking the codecs have to have something to do with this cause obviously my codecs wouldnt be the same on my machine as it would on others.....

That has nothing to do with it being an mpeg, mpegs will psuedo stream just like wmv's.

I just download a free trial of xing mpeg player..... The file NOW plays through this software at 320x240.

So its a WMP thing? or a codec thing?

I thought that mpgs were the best fomat to go and was under the impression that with mpeg, codec problems were not an issue.

The only thing that bothers me is that if I state on the tour that all the movies are 320x240, you are bound to get members who say "my movies only play at 284x240"... Now it would be pretty unfair of me to say, yes you have to buy a different bit of software

Perhaps there is a free mpg player that I could offer?

Any ideas anybody?

It opens in 320x240 in several different video editing programs,
including Premiere and V-dub.

An excellent little free player can be found here

I believe it can also be offered as a free download from remote
