The threads where everyone gives their opinion are actually a perfect example of how surfers react. Ask if a chick is hot and you get everything from "she is a perfect babe' to "I wouldn't touch her". Some will think she has a perfect smile and some will think her mouth is too big.
So sometimes it really pays to pick content by the quality of the photography and not exactly how much the girl appeals to you. I can't tell you how many times I have made a gallery of a girl who I find marginal and not very appealing and she ended up being one of the ones that made the most sales.
Surfers are diverse and the content should be also.
