My young daughter dressed provactively from an early age, and we neither encouraged or supressed it. At 18 now she is actually fairly conservative, but still dresses pretty tarty sometimes.

She was stealing my wife's thongs from the age of 11.

Kids want to wear cool clothes before they even know why. Nothing wrong with it; they are just showing off for the peers and learning to flirt.

I have 2 nieces that you could pretty much say I raised.

In fact when the youngest does some crazy shit my sister will always say..."well you raised her not me."

Anyway, growing up they always played dress up with my sister's clothes. wore grown up bras etc well before it was necessary, wore make up.

My youngest niece was a huge fan of Brittney *she's only 11*, and would dress up in all kinds of garb to play in around the house.

the issue is appropriateness. These things they were not allowed to do outside the house.

My youngest niece is still not allowed to wear make up outside the house, other than some lip gloss.

My sister would not let her wear a thong either. Now my oldest niece who just turned 17 that's another story. She gives her much more leeway, allows things that are appropriate for her age.

children *hopefully* have a whole adult life ahead of them. Let them be children now and develop into their own and allow them to make decisions that are appropriate for their age at each stage of their life.

There is NO reason any girl at that age 10-11 should be wearing a thong outside the house.

You can talk about comfort, panty lines etc. But that's all a bunch of bullshit. No little girl is concerned about panty lines.

She's just seen the skankification of Brittany, Christina etc and wants to dress up just like them.

That's fine...they should just wait until they're age appropriate.

The decay in school and home discipline is one reason why so many UK kids are arrogant dumb and lack respect for others. Here in the Canary Islands kids have a lot more respect and are rarely seen making nuisance. They are much more integrated into the family unit and get well disciplined if they overstep the mark.

As for girls here wearing thongs at 11-12 ? more than their lives are worth to even think about the idea.

Its no wonder there are so many paedophiles in the UK, parents are encouraging the side shows.

This weekend I found out that a girl we let walk our dogs was 11 years old.

My wife and I assumed she was 16-17 as she was very "developed" and always wore tight revealing clothes. She even came over to our house with her mother while she was wearing a thong hanging out of the back of her pants.

It's amazing what parents today are letting their children get away with. I think it has more to do with both parents working and spending less time with their kids.

My daughter is 3 years old. she wants to wear a bra like mommy. We let her because it's funny... If she wanted to wear a thong.. that's a whole different story.

At that age "being cool" is way more important than sexuality. Those kids are imatating celebs, not because they want 10-11 year old boys to fuck them, but because they want to feel cool, we all did stuff like that at that age, and I see no reason why we should suppress it now.

but seriously..."being cool," is fine. Wear some cool jeans, a cool shirt, cool shoes, if you're 11 you get to wear the 11 year old version of panties.

Alot of kids think it's cool to smoke...drink...I'd rather teach my nieces *children if I had any* to be independent of what others thought was "cool," so when the real peer pressure came around they'd have some sort of defense system in place to make what I would hope to be the right decision if a parent is not around.

i remember hearing about a school dance.....granted i didnt read the article at the top, so i dont know what it's about.....but the school asked parents to make sure kids were wearing underwear before they left for a dance.....parents got pissed off at that too....or maybe it was the teacher checking girls to make sure they had underwear on......either way, i dont think it has something to do with some perv wanting to check girls underwear....i think it has to do with the way these girls are dressing for school dances and shit....they dont need to be letting their shit all hang out for their peers and teachers to see.
