I think S. Korea is going to win.

        Global politics plays a factor.

              fuck this shit.

they cancelled yesterdays Canada Day fireworks for "public safety" yet people are PAYING MONEY to sit in our hockey arena and "cheer on" Canada's bid.

Are the poor allowed to celerate here? Are they invited?

                get some dignity...

the acting-mayor of Whister shaved his head and died it red in a shaved maple leaf.

That would really suck to be there if Vancouver didn't get it. Imagine the mood?

I'm glad Salzburg didn't get it, Korea or Vancouver would both be good choices.

a vancouver bid guy just said Samsung went around the world arranging business deals with IOC voting member countries.

what a low blow. i hope he can substantiate that.

Vancouver will get it...Asia has had a lot lately with the world cup and the summer olympics choice. This would put it in N.American tv time and everyone is happy.

Bread not circuses is the most idiotic concept ever created. You're obviously a fan of Jack Layton. He destroyed one of our Olympic bids with his bread not circuses crap. Fucking dickhead.

                                      1) Calling the most prestigious amateur sporting events in the world a circus only displays a high level of ignorance.

                                      2) To say that a country like Canada, which has one of the highest standards of living in the world, needs bread for its people is absurd.

Whatever dude, I'm probably older than you. And no, we don't have serious problems in this country. Maybe if you ventured outside your home town and saw how the rest of the world lives you would realize how good we have it here.

As for my hostility level, believe me it doesn't need an adjustment. I've had to live with Jack Layton's idiocy for years. I lived in his constituency all the years he was a city councilor. All of us here who know good old Jack get our backs up when we here the words "bread not circuses".

Explain this to me, how does someone who is an elected representative for the city of Toronto have to balls to stage a parade in Japan chanting "Bread Not Circuses" effectively sabotaging the Toronto Olympic bid taking place at the same time? How does someone who represents Toronto embarrass his city by portraying it as some impoverished 3rd world ghetto? Vancouver should count its blessings that it didn't have a freak like Jack Layton and his Bread Not Circuses movement sabotaging their bid for the Games.

But what would you know about any of this? It's easier to cut and paste news articles and chant slogans.

                                                  "Whatever, dude"

Welcome to Bill and Ted's Excellent GFY Thread.

You sound like such a sore loser. Blaming someone else because your crappy BID TEAM couldnt compete with the real bids.

You speak as though opposition to the Olympic games is tantamount to treason. I suppose you think he should be assaulted or jailed for expressing his democratic entitlement to free speech and the right to represent his constituents in the way he wanted to?

Obviously you are stuck inside listening to too much CFRB. Go outside, get some fresh air and calm down. If you want some help, go see a doctor to discuss your anger and hostility problems.
