    Video Clip of Chantelle

    I have a model that's been pretty popular (Chantelle) that I shot some video of...

    I usually take the MiniDV tape out of the camcorder and hand it to an employee. I know nothing about getting it internet ready.

    But I'm 600 miles away from that employee right now and trying to figure this out.

    I'm using Pinnacle Studio 7. I recorded a 16 second clip, with no sound, and wanted to make the smallest MPEG possible out of it. I thought I had it set up right, but I guess not. This is what I got:

    (WHAT THE HELL IS .m1v ??) When I click on that it plays with quicktime. It's 160x112, 250k/sec, no audio = 500k.

    HELP!!

    (I really need to learn to do shit for myself and not rely on employees).

          Whatever it is, it plays in my Windows Media Player 9

          And in the directory it says it's a "movie file (mpeg)"


          when I rename it to .mpg it still plays
          whatever that means

              The purpose of this video is to use as a sample clip in a free tour for my site.

              I was told not to save it as a .wmv file because there won't be many surfers that have Windows Media Player.

              Do you agree?

                  The reason I ask is because the .wmv version is SO much smaller in filesize:

                                          Hi Donovan,

                                          In my experience the output of Studio isn't so great, you're better off using something like tmpgenc to encode it.

                                          An .M1V file is (as someone already pointed out) a standalone video stream.

                                          M1V (video) + MP2 (audio) = MPG (multiplexed)

                                          If it's only the 16 sec clip you want encoded then I can have a go at it. No charge. ICQ: 167913509
