Stop crying and do something to seperate yourself from the average.
In the meantime...There is plenty of free shit for you. Look at all the stuff LightSpeed has done for their "average webmasters." I did not see people bitching when they took their top affiliates out and left the poor little "average webmasters" at home.
I could go on and on about the stuff that various companies have done for the "average webmaster." The bottom line...and the thing that VERY few people in this industry have the balls to publicly state...Is that the average webmaster is a fucking idiot that sponsors feel forced to deal with in order to maintain respect from the general adult internet community...Which happens to be made up primarily of "average webmasters."
If my words have offended you or pissed you off in any way...Good! Go back and read the BOLD text part of my reply again.

Why would your words offend me? I already do my own thing and I'm quite happy about where I'm at. No need for contests or affiliates or sponsors or any of that stuff really.
But I think there is a better way to run these contests and to get better long-term results. For example, they could offer incentives to the ones that show improvements in sales or ratios or whatever. If a company told me that I could win something by improving sales by say 50% for 3 months then yeah, I might be inclined to try. If they were to say to me that I could win something by getting the most sales then I wouldn't even bother, partly because I would have no idea what that number would have to be and partly because I know that some people can just slap up a banner and get 50 sales a day.
