Yes she is happy now, but when the barrage of health problems and negative 'peer imaging' arise because of childhood obesity, she will be miserable.
Don't be to quick to judge the parents....sometimes a gene is responsible for this malady. Medication for low thyroid hormones can also help, but that is up to the parents to seek medical advice. I know alot of pediatricians that used to tell parents they would grow out of it, so wait and see, but this is obviously not the correct or healthy approach.
Someone please send her a basket of carrots!
