Rich, keep in mind that this script is a hacked version of TTT, any tgps using it are added to the findtrades blacklist database and their hosts will be informed that they are using stolen scripts.

We have a migration script as setup to move you from TTT and a variety of other scripts. That's part of the next version, but like I said...for you I can probably make it available now

You know how big a fan i am of your script and all of your programs. I would never do anything to lose my credability with you or your staff.

I did not even look at his script yet, so i have no idea if it is a ripoff or not, but i am almost posative that if there is any proof of such activity that you would take any possible actions to prevent the script from being spread.

Correct me if i am wrong, but the way i see it ... if you are allowing it to be spread like this, and still be circulated in public forums, that must meen that you and/or your staff have not found any solid evidence that it is a copy.

Once again keep in mind, if upon inspecting it i found it to be a rip or a fraud i would definately not use it, or recomend anyone to use it. But at this time there is no proof of such that i know of, because if there were proof you would have stopped him dead in his tracks.

I apreciate your headsup on this, and definately look forward to hearing your reply on the issue.

Rich and I have talked a bit about this. I'm sure he's taken a look at the code. You can protect your code, but the logic behind traffic trading scripts is not something that's yours to protect. Maybe you should have thought about encoding it. Thankfully you didn't, and people are able to look at see that Kel's coding is new and far superior...it's by no means a hack job.

Since we've taken the time to discuss the matter with lawyers before releasing anything...we're confident that we are within our rights and are not infringing upon anyone elses rights. I mean...come on, look at the code. I've had a few messages from people who have, and they know what's up.

Rich this guy hosts his sites off his Mom's computers in her bedroom. He cannot even afford a $10 a month host. He has admitted it openly on several BBS boards. I am not going to throw money at a attorney to go after someone who has nothing. I could source his servers to ashes but I do not do things like that. when and if he ever gets a real host, I will take action. He is just a punk who thinks he is "Getting back at a big guy". It's really sad too, the kid seems to be a good coder. Too bad he went to the Dark Side. He could make good money as a honest coder.

1. Any tgp using this script is in FT blacklist database , which means they are INSTANTLY blacklisted from trading with over 5000 TGPS that are now using TTT.

2. I will now start contacting the hosts of these tgps. Let the host decide if the script is stolen. You boy admitted it dumbass.

The evidence is clear and substantial. More than enough to get a court order to cease and desist. But again the cost of this would be much more than the route I have chosen. But as I keep saying, get that site hosted on a real host and watch what happens.

Just going by the way both of you post, i come to the following conclusion; you are both wrong!

choker, if it is infact a duplicate (which it may very well be) then you need to step to the plate and make a move. You are showing a weekness and this will only open up future problems for you. Im sure if someone stole thehun design, he would be on them like white on rice, just out of principle if nothing else.

candyflip, if its a rip, or far from a rip ... making it look even similar to his script was only asking for trouble. You must have forseen all of this nonsense ahaid of time and choose to do nothing about it.

My newbie gut feeling tells me that one of you needs to make a move. Either choker steps to the plate and shuts him down or leaves him alone ....

or candyflip changes design (at the very least the front end), OR provides solid evidence this script has nothing at all to do with chokers.

Guilty until proven innocent is just not good enough in this case i think ... you must prove your innocence.

Dude, what do you not understand about this? This punk hosts this site off his mom's pcs in her bedroom. There is not even a host I can send a cease and desist too. The Spanish ISP he uses does not give a fuck, their only concern is that their network even works at all, this is in Spain afterall. I am standing up to this guy. I am not going to throw a lot of money after this punk. He is simply not worth it. But anyone using his script will be dealt with. They are violating a copyright product. If thier host does not agree then we will see what their upstream says about it.

Then why are my test sites still up and running? My bigger trades are with your sites and all trades are from sites within the FT database. Imagine that. They're nothing big, maybe flying under the radar.

He never admitted to anything. What he did do was use the wrong word when trying to describe something. Remember English isn't his first language. He knows 3 or 4...plus the programming stuff. If you think you're going to win this using that, you'll have to try again.

The code is no copy, it's far superior. If you feel we are infringing upon copy rights, it is your best interests to persue legal action. Leave the threats and extortion out of business.

One easy way to see the straight code ripping is;

Open up any cjoverkill php script, and search for cjoverkill_ and replace it with ttt_

Nearly all of the mysql_query() functions will be identical among both scripts.

Nothing wrong has been done. The script looks the way it does for a reason. It was not my doing, but I stand behind the reasoning. Seems to have worked too. The front end will definitely "look" different when a new version is released in a few weeks.

Cjoverkill functions in a completely different manner from TTT. It's that which allows us to procede without infringing upon anyone rights.

The only thing that's the same is the "look" of the back/front end...what ever you want to call it. It was done to draw attention. We know that we're safe. The code is legit, and if they want to come after us for copying some html tables...be my guest. If they do, it's because they know they have no leg to stand on. In the end it all comes down to the code. They can pick thru it and make it a chore or count line numbers and see that they don't come close to matching up.

Why is it that Choker is unwilling to do the work needed to protect his code? (ie. encoding it, persuing legal avenues) Why else would Choker resort to the tactics he's uses? Threats, bully other webmasters?

Why? Because there's nothing he can do about it. It's different source code, released to the public, with a new license. It'll hold up.
