Excuse me? But walking to your corner doesn't mean a damn thing. The fight is still on until someone hits the ground, in the case of the UFC taps out, or until the ref stops the fight.

Even after someone can't take anymore, more hits are always given. It takes some time for the ref to realize what's going on.

In a boxing match you turn your back on the fight that's usually considered a forfeiture.

It is the Ref's job in ALL matches to determine if the fighter has the ability to make a conscious decision in the match due to the fact that the fighter may have suffered enough mental damage that night that whatever action they take may not be in their best interest.

If a ref saw a fighter trying to make their way to their corner they should have gotten between the fighters to see what the issue might be, even bring in the ring doctor to make a final determination.

And as far as your comment about not being in the fight if 3 blows would kill her, that's just plain stupid.

1 blow could kill anyone, including heavy weight boxers. There's always that 1 "lucky" blow, depends upon timing, location all kinds of factors involved that could just end your life immediately.

I think movies have skewed our realm of what is and isn't possible.

You have guys like Mel Gibson in the Lethal Weapons movies being riddled with bullets and laughing about it in the end while on a stretcher only to show up in the sequel, while people die of single gunshot wounds from a .22 in the leg...it just happened to be too close to the artery.

hehe, do you know how many many punches you need to get by ( A WOMAN WITH GLOVES) before dying?! That women didnt recived only 3 punches! She probably received a ton of hits before receiving the 3 last ones! THe ref should have stopped the fight... and the other boxer should have waited for the ref to stop the fight when she saw the other boxer wobbling to her corner... Since the victory was certain anyway! ANd even if the ref is to dumb to then stop the fight, finish your adversary with body shots!

Boxing is not a dangerous sport.... if you and the ref know when to stop

It wasn't boxing. I don't believe that they wear "boxing gloves" in the UFC.

Thread stated it was a "toughman" bout. Toughman bouts usually consist of a boxing style fight.

They do wear gloves, the thing is you have to make your way through a system of fighters. Basically the one who lasts through all the matches to the end is the toughman.

UFC is a completely different matter. I've seen them stop UFC matches plenty of times because the other fighter looked like they couldn't or wouldn't respond.

This woman knew what she was getting into. She had NO business in that ring.

Its fucking toughman, thats NOT UFC, check it out its on FOX, if you get that channel or not. they are basically just boxing matches between anyone who wants to sign up.

I completely agree with eroswebmaster, I don't think most people realize how fragile we really are, and how easy it is to die, esp. when people are punching you.
