                                                                      One way is to become an editor for DMOZ. Pick an obscure catagory that needs and editor. Design the front page of the site to reflect that topic "antique eggbeaters" so that if another editor looks at it then it will not be taken off line. It usually takes one week or less to see it pop-up in google.

                                                                      Then change it.


                                                                      To get high up in google:

                                                                      1. check out a similar site, that is ranked high in google, in Altavista, type "link:www.their domain.com. This will let you know who they are linked too. Remove the www and it will usually show more. Try to get linked to those people.

                                                                      2. meta language in your html, description, keywords, and title should all contain the specific words that you wish you site to appear in as a keyword search. Have the robots also look throught all your pages, and review every five days

                                                                      3. update your home page "index" every five or less days, any change will do

                                                                      4. cross link all your preview pages

                                                                      5. creat mutliple front pages with different meta language for different keywords.

                                                                      good links are hard to come by.

                                                                      took me about two months to get up in the top ten on google for specific keywords like comics, comix, comixxx, bdsm cartoons and such.
