I refuse to believe that 2 people didn't know. A passenger would have to be drunk and passed out to not know you hit someone.

Tourist Injured in Hit and Run, Then Hit Again
SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) -- A tourist was critically injured Saturday night after being hit by a pickup truck and dragged three blocks, only to be hit by another car in a double hit-and-run, police said.

Deputy Chief Beverly Lennen said both vehicles fled after pedestrian Helen Cote, of Silverton Colo., and her husband, Michael, were struck while crossing a street approximately a half-block from Santa Fe Plaza around 8:15 p.m., September 28.

Approximately six hours later, police arrested John Chavez for investigation of driving while intoxicated, causing great bodily harm by vehicle, and causing injury by vehicle, tampering with evidence and leaving the scene of an accident.

Lennen said Chavez was found hiding in someone's camper shell. His truck parked nearby.

Helen Cote was initially listed in critical condition, but the hospital has refused to provide further updates.

Sucks to be the guy dragged.

This sounds like that case a year ago... the woman who hit somebody then drove home with them on their car, then the person bled to death in her garage.

I absolutely agree. They both obviously agreed not to tell the police what really happened.

Um...yes New Mexico is a fucked up place to be a pedestrian but this happens only in Texas.
