Well, I for one didn't spend any time trying to take the site down, but I guess I would have if it had been my site that was hotlinked. I almost got shut down years ago because I got hotlinked and had a bandwidth bill that was almost as much as my rent. Luckily I found someone to host my sites really cheap until I could find a new host. Took me forever to pay that old bandwidth bill off. Luckily, my host alerted me to the problem and taught me how to install .htaccess, but before that I had no idea how to prevent hotlinking, or even that I needed to.Originally posted by SexySarah

This whole thing has been handled very badly...this could have been talked out. As it is they will be up again somewhere else within hours I am sure. And if anyone thinks that Chinese BBS systems give a fuck about DMCA well you are wrong.
There are far worse sinners here at GFY, and no one does jack about it.
At my real job as admin at an ISP I have to deal with the thousands of daily spam emails we receive directed at kids and families. What response do you think I get when I ask the programs (most of them advertised here) to stop the emails? We get no reply.
Take a look at a few password sites and see who their sponsors are. What response do you think I have had from those sponsors when I have tried to talk to them when my stolen passes are listed about pulling the plug on thieves? We get no reply, and we never will as they make money from this.
