Inaccuratcies with more than a couple sponsors I use,
lack of support for others, and price.
I just don't currently see the value add out weighing a weekly
manual balance sheet. I suppose if I used more than 100
sponsors my opinion might change, but at less than 100 it
only takes 15-20 mins a week to go down the list and input
into my spread sheet.
I used it when Lightspeed had the free trial and if the monthly
fee was cut in half I'd be tempted to reinstall it. Unfortunately
it still wouldn't eliminate my weekly spread sheeting, it would
only give me a day to day look at what might be weekly result.
Cheers!Comment

When using our software your personal login details and numbers of the supported affiliate programs and pay per click search engines are stored encrypted on your hard drive. We do not have access to your personal login details and numbers at any time. Before StatsRemote checks your stats the software will connect to our server in order to check whether you are authorized to use the software. No information except the StatsRemote username and password is sent to our server at any time.
---
You can verify this with a network monitor to check what data is actually sent where. Many people actually did this and confirmed that nothing else is sent.
Also, do you think we would risk losing a 4-figure member base just to have a look at your stats?

I'm not lazy enough to pay a monthly fee to do something I can do myself without too much of an inconvenience.
It's not a tool that would make my life so much easier that I consider it worth the money.

I am guessing you don't use alot of sponsors then. When you have 10+ sponsors that you send regular traffic to its nice to have. Not to mention it compiles the data very nicely. Its so cheap at $30 a month that is a no brainer to get this.Originally posted by garett

Well no. I was sampling the value of a product, not working forOriginally posted by J B

you as beta tester. Reporting discrepancies wasn't part of the
trial agreement.
There was no point in asking for the addition of the unsupported
programs as the value add wasn't there for me to continue
using the product. It didn't save me anytime, it took time away
as I found myself logging in more to each sponsor to verify the
sales and uniques numbers.
I also found that it didn't co-exist well with some other programs
that use the MS engine. Perfect submitter comes immediately
to mind, but there was a couple. In some cases it would lock up
and stop retrieving data , about once in my average day it
would stop responding altogether.

Verotel... we're not aware of any problems. I know that many of our members check their Vertotel stats (affilites and merchant) without problems.Originally posted by brizzad
it cant check verotel, revenue pilot, searchfeed, and my custom affiliate program's stats
Revenue Pilot... they added a graphical security code to their login page a few weeks ago. We contacted them to work something out but they haven't replied.
Search Feed... we're not aware of any problems. Both - affiliate and ppc se - stats seem to work fine.
Your custom affiliate program... if you send us some more info and setup a test account for us, we might be able to add it.Comment

I use it....the only down side is that I forget to pause it on my laptop and when I check stats on my desktop I get one of those dreaded emails. I fully understand that they have had problems in the past where everyone and their brother were trying to share the same program...I just wish there was a way that they could check it is the same IP, same sponsors or whatever.Comment

There's just no way for us to find out. Even if it's from the same IP and checking the same sponsors it could be that two people are using it at the same time... and we don't have (and don't want) the info on what sponsors you check with StatsRemote.
The problem with Vertotel is that the software would need to read a lot of pages to get correct daily stats, thus hammer the stats servers. In such a case StatsRemote distributes all numbers for the entire pay period.Originally posted by some_idiot

I currently use statsremote but this is my last month doing so. I just finished my own SR clone (for my own use, not to sell). Like most of the other alternatives, it's web based but it works great.
In my opinion $30 a month is too much. $30 * 12 = 360 per year.I like pie.Comment
-
It's secure. Your login info isn't even sent to them. When SR first became popular and everyone started to embrace it, I subscribed and set up a network monitor to see what the program was doing. I watched every single packet of data. I guarantee they don't get your logins.Originally posted by Evil1

Well, I guess it depends on how many programs you promote and how long it took you to write your own script. Also, it might become a pain to keep up with all the stats changesOriginally posted by Armed & Hammered

The thing is, like the poster above, I crunch all my numbers into a spreadsheet.Originally posted by infecto

Stats remote would save me *some* time .. I do have 10+ sponsors .. I have 20+ merged under one ccbill account so yeah if all my sponsors were non-ccbill it would be different. But I still have to check my stats for LS, TNA, ND, TripleX, Adult Lounge, Totem etc. etc.
It takes me 10-20 minutes each day to check my stats and put it all into spreadsheet that automagically calculates a shit load of information for me. I don't see how stats remote would help me too much there. Maybe save me 5 minutes .. and if I worked on a 'cash per minutes/hours' basis then I might see that as going to waste .. but actually it's how I prefer to spend my morning coffee time .. going over my stats from the previous day.
Besides .. people love to use the $1 / day to sell anything but that's $365 / year .. I could buy my next ATX license for that.Comment

The main reason I don't use it is because it's not compatible with all the casino affiliate programs I promote (mainly Gambling Wages, Affiliatedweb, slotland and 'Casino on Net') I have submitted requests for these to be added so shall wait and see

OK, if you just wait for your checks and don't check your stats manually anyway you probably don't need StatsRemote... but most people check all their stats dailyOriginally posted by The Heron
I have a hard time justifying paying money to see how much money I have made when I could just wait for the checks to show up to figure it out. Or if I really care I can check myself for free.

And there's a lot of weird stuff that it doesn't show and sometimes it shows me different stats than if I logged in.Comment

As for the weird stuff... in most of the cases it's because of changes in stats or database problems if StatsRemote temporary shows wrong numbers.
Two examples:
1. Last week CCBill changed their stats and StatsRemote suddenly only showed hits, but no sales, rebills and $$$.
2. Certain programs have database problems quite often. You rarely notice it if you check your stats manually a few times a day but StatsRemote checks the stats as often as every 15 minutes and sometimes shows wrong numbers because of these temporary database problems. Usually it's corrected again during the next scheduled stats update.Comment

I only use a couple main sponsors. Not enough of a time saver for me. If I used 10+ then I would be inclined to.
I LOVE the program though- it's fantastic.

Could you please make sure that you have all the latest updates and service packs installed - http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ - if not please install them.Originally posted by HowlingWulf
I'm overall happy with it, I just wish it would stop crashing on me.
If that doesn't help please reinstall the Microsoft JVM and reboot your machine. The problem is that sometimes original components are replaced when you install other software and that might cause the problems.
Win XP:
http://www.statsremote.com/msjavwu.exe
Win2000/ME/98:
http://www.statsremote.com/msjavx86.exe
Also, do you run Zone Alarm on your machine? A few of our users had crashing problems and they were gone when they didn't use Zone Alarm anymore. The strange thing is that many of our members run StatsRemote together with Zone Alarm with no problems at all. We tested it on our machines as well and StatsRemote never crashed when Zone Alarm was running.
If you run Zone Alarm on the machine could you please try the following: Disable Zone Alarm and set it to not start at startup. Then reboot the machine and start StatsRemote.Comment
