I'm trying to dump a large database with mysqldump... but it keeps loosing characters... does anyone know what options to set to fix this?
mysqldump keeps fucking up the program!

it's about 3mb... and I get errors importing it... I look at the file and I have lines half missing and some lines merged together...

I've never heard of this problem before. 3mb should be no problem, one of our databases is over 175mb and it dumps fine.
You might want to consider reading the mysql docs/support forum:

I FINALLY got the shit transferred over... DAMN was that a FUCKING HASSLE...
Luckily, my databases consisted of shitloads of tables instead of just one table with a shitload of entries...
So I was able to export/import sections at a time because phpmyadmin gave me the option of selecting what tables I wanted to export...
