                                                                I think NY is significantly lower since (at least in the movies) their traffic jams are worse than ours, and it seems like more people use taxis, bus, and subway than we do

                                                                                                                                                        first off, I will never argue that the transit system in LA sucks, San Francisco's rocks. They are trying here, but as the song says, "nobody walks in LA." We have been spoiled with an elaborate freeway system, and LA is pretty damn big, area wise.

I believe that there are some cities around here that have outlawed that practice, and fully expect a statewide law against it, if I have to start it myself.

                                                                                                                                                        Every close call I have had in the past 4 years has had a cell phone being used by the other guy. I really like it when they hold up the phone to show me, as if this is some kind of legit excuse.

I could only do freeway driving if I was fairly certain nobody else would be on the road - like, Sunday, early A.M. (this was in Tulsa).

                                                                                                                                                                            In 2000 my partner had to go to a business thingy in LA. I had lived there, in 1987. He had been there once, and did NOT want to drive there. I was like, no problem. Been there, done that, blah, blah, blah. After more than 8 years of completely avoiding freeways, I soared through LA like there was no tomorrow. It all but cured me of my phobia.

                                                                                                                                                                            People in LA KNOW how to drive. They may seem crazy, but they're not. They know what they're doing. I would drive in LA any day over any midwestern or southern city.

                                                                                                                                                                            And on that note, the idea that Baddog hates women...sorry, I'm laughing too hard.

                                                                                                                                                                                                        Years of traffic jams and fender benders in NYC have taught most of us to leave our cars at the train station and take our chances with cabs.
