After a post yesterday, I was wondering what would make a person make a porn website .(maybe the love of sex?? )

How did you know what to do? How did you get started?

Hey Babagirls, do you have it on DVD? There is an alternate ending that is a little better.

I became a porn webmaster, becsuse it was the next step for me.

I started a long time ago (4 years) doing a page about FX. In there, was a sculpture of a girl named Leeann Tweeden. That page started getting hit more than the site itself, so I dumped the FX page and concentrated on just the Leeann Page. It grew slowly over the years with very little promotion on my behalf.

Now, I figured, why not make some decent money at being a webmaster, so I'm now focusing on being an adult webmaster.

ROFL I was into "non-adult" in 1995... was doing computer consulting, and decided to put up a website.

Well, I wanted to see my counter go up... how to do that? I put a pic of Cindy Crawford half naked, and some blurb about how sexy Cindy was.... VOOM went the counter!

Some guy emails me, and says, "Hey I saw your Cindy pic... you know, you can make money doing that...." and explained to me how AdultCheck worked

My first check was from Xpics, in 1997 I think. Made a site with links to galleries and other sites.

And in 1998 a lot of adult webmasters started to join my non-adult toplist, so I put some links to adult sponsors there for some weeks. Later, in 1999, spliced my toplist in 4 parts, one of them adult

Money! Shortest return of investment ever. Almost no or minimum investment to begin with. Still relative low competition. Relative small players, no big companies involved that you just can't compete with. Still growing market. A product that is and always will be needed and asked for. Easy to sell because not tangible. And at least I don't hate porn. But If there was another industry with exact the same or better conditions I'd switch. So I could tell the neighbors what I'm doing when the lights are still burning way after midnight.

OK... I didn't read this whole thread, but I can tell you why I started this 5 years ago.

One night my friends and I got a bit on the drunk side and decided to find some hot naked chicks on the net. What did we find? You got it! A bunch of CJ and pop-up hell sites. So I said fuck it, I'll build one of my own that will NEVER have any of that bullshit and I'll place some links in there so we can just go to em. I guess the word spread, because I know for a fact that I don't know all the fucking people that visit my site every damn day... I still love the butt-fucking CJ site owners and quick-buck wannabes that ask me to link up every day.

Guess what "GO FUCK YOURSELF!"

I ate the BW charges on my site for 3 damn years, just out of pure love, now they love ME back... shit most of the sign-ups to my paysite have only been there once or twice, but they still pay me $2.95 a month just because they fucking care if I go down or not!

Years ago, I was surfing warez sites and fuckin around... and I clicked an Xpics banner!! I saw a link that said "Webmasters" and clicked on it, and saw that I could make money from this shit.

My kingdom was born! I initially started spamming with scripts and bots on IRC. I made huge money doing that.

Then I got into the legit, and I have never looked back, don't worry!

Babagirls, first thing you gotta do is learn some HTML. I learned over at http://www.htmlgoodies.com not sure if it was the easiest place to learn, but it got the job done.

Then hit up some webmaster resources... hahah, there's so damn many of them that none really come to mind.

While you're at it, might wanna check out http://www.fineprint.com this handy little program will let you print multiple pages onto one page, saving you tons of paper. It does it's job well, the print is still clear when you fit 4 pages on 1.

People are saying to read all about HTML, but I think its much easier to use a program like Front Page or Dreamweaver. To learn HTML from scratch would take too long. These programs will get you up and going much quicker.

Wildman I disagree,

The basics of HTML are very easy to learn and from there on teh programs liek Frontpage and dreamweaver are handy.

But if you use them without HTML knowledge your are:

1) Limited to the features of those programs
2) In case of problems on pages unable to solve them
3) Building larger pages then necessary because they add a lot of useless crap to the pages that only suck bandwidth,
With 2 or 3 pages that's no problem, but with like me with more then 3000 page s out there it is

My 2 cents worth.

I hd sooooooo much porn on my drive that it seemed a waste for me to keep itall to myself. As for learng HTML, sheesh, i had to learn the basics, but that was all. I built the site for a laugh on a free host, just to see if i could! I wouldn't bother doing it again as there are so many quality sites in the market, and free movie sites too now (cable modem rules ) www.erotism.com/gammagirls to see how a complete learner can get any old crap on the web!

It would only be to your disadvantage if you didn't learn HTML. After you've learned the basics, then move on over to an editor. Even while using an editor, you'll sometimes have to dip into the HTML to correct something or adjust something else. Depends on which you use. Editors sure help to speed certain jobs up, but you still wanna know the code.
