I've run into Bruce Springstein in the town I live in quite a few times, never walked up and approached him. Back in the 70s I ran a limo business in London and met a long list of well-known people, some briefly, some - as different as Frank Sinatra and Keith Moon - I spent a lot of time with.
The picture that stays with me most from then, was being at one of the VIP suites at Heathrow and watching Prince Faisal of Saudi Arabia and Adnan Khashoggi, finishing up some business and walking to their 'planes: each had his own private 747.
That scene made my previous ideas about wealth seem a little naive
