I used to think that way to a large degree Interlude. I grew up. Bush sr was just a extension of Reagenomics. He did the right thing in the middle east but as any war criminal (yes check his records) he didn't have the ass end to finish the job. Hence we are still battling there when it should have been finished long ago. He surely didn't do a damned thing for our economy. Oh yeah he DID make it wrong for 600 dollar toilet seats. He too em down to 400 bucks. lol

You're right on the congress thing to a degree. BUT, a president can veto/deny his approval on any bill. Trot your butt back in to the Bush sr records and see for yourself how many times he expressed that right. He went right along with the so called great politicians in congress.

Most Americans WANT a missile shield?? Fer crying out loud. MOST Americans just want to live and let live! We don't give a damn what missiles we have unless its to know that if some Reagen backed Saddam gets too stupid, we could nuke him. (Maybe you should look up the history... Bush sr was Reagens vice) lol

That thing about being too far left or right?? Whenever Repubs hold the office the too far applies usually. Take a poll on the missile system. I bet 90% or more don't want to spend that much on a totally useless so called shield. Lets not even consider the fact that the US backed the treaty on no more missile systems! I guess I have to agree with my old man. Wasitay en gato. Don't trust whites. Or another translation is Longknives are liars. Make treaties and then break them. (oh wasn't it a repub that backed that treaty? and then wanted to do a star wars thing??)

You need to look up the history on congress and the presidency and actually grasp it. Try it sometime. You'd be amazed on how badly they run this country as well as how often they go for the choice of the few over the majority. I still stand on they are aholes bent on keeping Bubba the oil magnate rich over feeding the masses.

Yes I have adopted the Indian way of thinking. This government was made up from the Algonquin way of governing their tribe. Even stole their Eagle with the shield. But the Algonquins never let their people go hungry. Hmmmm guess I shouldn't defend them too much since they were the hubbys ancestors mortal enemies. lol

Yeah all politicians suck to a large degree. But at least the Democrats have their fellow man in mind. In the open anyhow. Too bad that politico's don't actually do what their constituants want. I know its a useless point but the hubby is still inviting us to all leave. lol Manifest Destiny. Republican way of saying "Kill anyone in our way".
