Yes, and we all know the only thing worse than Bush Jr. was Bush Sr., right? Puleeze, I'd take Bush Sr. over Clinton anyday. The economy would be exactly the same as it is today, but we wouldn't have to watch scandle after scandle on TV every day.

With as much firepower in the world today as you say, wouldn't it make sense to pursue any available options to prevent total destruction? Polls say most Americans support a missle shield. And regardless, such a small issue shouldn't make or break your opinions about your president.

There are lots of problems in this country, the homeless are just one. Who's to say that they are more important than clean water, or education, or a minimum wage that keeps up with inflation? Not you, not I. People don't seem to understand that their tax dollars are used for a lot of programs that they don't agree with. Personally, I don't like the idea that some fraction of my tax dollars are used for ridiculous things like $200,000 studies to determine the best viewing angle for the TV in the Congressional waiting room (I didn't make that one up). But that's how government chooses to spend your money, and there isn't much you can do about it. Don't blame the president, it's Congress that controls the money.

I hate those type of people too, but they represent a small portion of Republicans. Just as communists and hard-line socialists represent a small portion of Democrats. Swinging too far in either political direction will get you into questionable territory. Do you think any of the last three presidents were part of such a minority? Bush Sr., Clinton, and Bush Jr. are extreme moderates, because that's what gets you elected. In all honesty, Gore would have been the same way had he won.

Righto. And your boy Clinton really did a lot to help people like him? What happened to his national health care system? How did HMO's get so powerful in the last decade? Politicans suck, plain and simple, but don't blame Republicans exclusively. And please, don't make the typical American mistake of blaming the president for the country's woes - Congress has the power over money matters. I'm still amused when people rip on Bush Sr. about the "read my lips, no new taxes" line when the tax raise was passed by Congress over his head.
