    gym rats...i need advice

for anyone who works out i have a question for you.

what is the best way to gain weight? i have looked into the GNC creatins but they are not really good for people with heart conditions ( i have a heart murmer). i'm working out pretty regularly for about 2 hours ago.

run/walk 4-5 miles on the treadmill with an incline that varies from 10-15% and a speed of 4.7(what the means i dont know) an then i lift. i'm getting very toned but i'm still skinny. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

actually, you can get Weight Gainer which is a protein shakes (lots of different tastes available) but if I was you, that would be the only I take... no creatine or steroid shit.... just do it natural.

Eat a heaping bowl of peanut butter and ice cream before you go to bed.

That'll fatten yer arse up right quick.

Weight gainer powders are a waste of money.

        If your kinda skinny
don't need to run 4-5 miles

just do a 15 min warmup jog before each workout

and then just have a day where you do one 4-5 mile run

running for you will just make you even more toned and skinny

it may not be in you to gain weight, protein shakes, more carbs, and your metabolism(sp) may also be high, that's usually the case with slim people,i can eat 3k+ calories daliy, sit on my ass and gain nothing,

          just more carbs(pasta,etc.)

Protien shakes, 2 to 3 per day, (chocolate and and a scoop of peanut butter) L-Glutamine, a good multi-vitamin, and Creatine, but make sure you buy the good quality stuff like EAS. Drink lots of water, eat a ton of steak, at least 5 egg whites, chicken and sweet potatoes every day. And hit the gym at least 6 days a week, and don't over do it in your workouts.

Heavy workouts with FREE WEIGHTS and basic exercises.

                Do 3 work-outs a week.

                Lots of protein....LOTS of it..

And limit you running and cardivascular training (Think it´s spelled like that - english is not my first laungage).

Basicly you need to get more calories than you are burning and make sure that you get you rest (not to many workouts a week - You grown when you rest - not when you workout) and keep using heavy FREE WEIGHTS - forget about all the stupid machines...

Sqaut, Bench Press, Deadlift and a some chins, shoulder-work and a little biceps/triceps will get you there...

Yep. Lay into the protein very heavy.
Eggs, Red Meat, Chicken, Beans, Almonds...

All the above works well. I'm up about 10 pounds in 3 months, but it's good weight.

Just go get a girlfriend and go out to restaurants 5 or 6 times a week. You will fat in no time. And as an added bonus you will be broke too. 2 for the price of 1.

I know some skinny people who are always saying their trying to gain weight, but can't. Funny thing is I never see them eating, and evenif I do, it's like a salad or something. Quit fuckin complainin and go buy 15 cheeseburgers already. If you can eat 15 cheeseburgers a day and you still don't gain weight, then complain!

If you are trying to gain muscle mass, DO NOT do the treadmill for a long time right before lifting. You'll be wasting your time, your energy level will be too low and your blood flow won't be sufficient to fatigue your muscles properly.

It's better to do heavy lifting 3 days a week with just a very short aerobic warmup. Don't overdo the lifting - use the heaviest weights you can properly handle for 2-3 sets a workout, and don't touch the weights at all on your days off. It's those days off when you actually build the muscle mass, if you overtrain you won't gain shit because your muscles won't have a chance to recover & grow.

If you eat balanced meals with plenty of protein, you will see results very quickly. I personally would hold off using supplements until you reach a plateau, that way you also will get a psychological boost.

a little bit of Growth Hormone combined with a some Decca and Winstrol and a good diet will get you right where you want.

                                            Oh yeah and religious lifting.
                                            Thanks

The weight gain formulas are garbage. If you break each down for carbs to protein ratios you will see you can do better with a light 8oz protien shake and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. 24oz of milk and powder will always have a lot of calories but it's rarely the best thing to do. Especially considering you can only break down at most 50 grams (usually 40) of protein per serving without turning the rest to fat and wasting it. Be smart about the supplementation so you don't waste quality calories. One 500 calorie shake 4 times a day will carry you way farther than 1 2000 calorie shake. Don't ever forget that! If you must buy a weight gainer break up the servings so you make what should be one serving 3 servings instead. But again, Designer Protein and PB&J will do you better.

Creatine is secondary. Protien is most important for you. You want to look into pro-hormones and ZMA at night. Anticatabolic supplements like ZMA are especially important for people with a high metabolism. If you take any supplements it should be those along with a good vitamin supplement. Stay away from the multipack vitamins. It's overkill for your body size. Look for the Solgar brand which include special enzymes to help absorbtion.

Stop running so long. Focus on short workouts that target your major body parts. Legs(!) back and chest. Make sure your lowerback gets worked because that's a powerbase for you. The more your lowerback can handle the more the rest increases. Hyperextensions and crunches cant be ignored. Don't worry as much about bicep and tricep exercises. They will be worked through the heavy major bodypart movements.

                                              And, read that other thread.
I've trusted my sites to them for over a decade...

First of all, don't go asking for advice on subjects such as this on gfy. It's not the best place for it, really.

Secondly, realize that if you choose building mass instead of cardiovascular exercise, you choose looks and strength instead of health. Your call. With your heart condition, consulting a physician and a professional trainer before switching training schedules would probably be best in any case.

Third, here's what to do to build mass:
Drop the running. Any type of cardiovasular exercise takes away from your ability to build mass. If you really want to run, focus on the dash. Short distances, as fast as you can. It will help you build muscle, but won't do as much for your health.
As for training: Free weights, as heavy as you can lift, 4 sets, 8 reps for each bodypart, every 72 hours on each bodypart (different bodyparts each day). Make sure you stay at your absolute maximum, but don't overtrain.
Eat a lot, milk, eggs and meat are good, especially with all the growth hormones they contain nowadays. Get enough protein, don't overdo it, and make sure you get decent amounts of carbohydrates and fat as well.
                                                        /(bb|[^b]{2})/

No shit! He's so fuckin right! That's how I gained 50 pounds that I'm halfway finished with loosing right now. It's not advisable though, too much of a shock on your system & hard to loose the fat once you gain it. I tried my whole life to gain weight and just got more ripped & more muscular. Nothing wrong with that, only fucked thing was my head telling me to gain weight because I thought that I was skinny. I was a triathlete @ 200 pounds and 5% bodyfat, I worked out 4 hours a day minimum 5-6 days a week and all I saw in the mirror was "Pale, fat, & tiny"
Take it easy on yourself in the mirror man, a heart condition can be worsened by unwarented emotional stress. Keep up the cardio - it's saving your life. Weight gain comes slowly, and safely, from a consistency of work, rest & recovery. Your diet should consist of this simple plan "If you cannot grow it, or kill it - then don't eat it."

To loose weight follow this plan:
                                                            1. Don't eat or drink carbs late at night (3-4 hours before bed)
                                                            2. Eat 4-6 small meals instead of 2 big meals
                                                            3. Work out after your last meal &/or before your first meal.
                                                            4. Do high reps, lots of sets, medium weights (low weights do nothing)

                                                            To gain weight:
                                                            Do the opposite:
                                                            1. Eat a big meal before bed
                                                            2. Eat 2-3 big meals a day
                                                            3. Red meat makes you aggressive - eat alot of it.
                                                            4. Work out hard in the middle of the day and get lots of rest (warm up good)
                                                            5. Only do one SUPER HARD workout per body part (3 types each) per week - one medium, and one with tons of reps.
                                                            6. Drink a high carb/protien drink while you work out, and lots of water!!!

                                                            On your exercises:
                                                            1. Spend more time on form - in the mirror, then adjusting your hair. Don't worry about what people are thinking about you, the only thing that people are looking at you for in the gym - is to wonder what you are thinking about them. If the gym didn't have mirrors, they would go out of business.
                                                            2. On the upswing (positive) of the exercise - go fast (2 count)
                                                            3. On the downswing (negative) go slow (4-6 count)
                                                            4. I've read a 1400 page book on Anatomy (Grey's Anatomy) and never found the momentum muscle - workout slow & do concise movements only - lazer-like contractions.
                                                            5. Be nice to yourself, self destructive behavior kills your spirit.

PS - I'm a certified personal fitness trainer on a cheeseburger & porn break getting back into shape again. 5 years ago - my RHR was 50, and I did a half Ironman Triathalon in 5:56:15. That's a 1.2 mile Ocean swim, a 56 mile bike ride, and running a half Marathon (13.1 miles). I can bench press almost 400 pounds and never took a steroid in my life. Oh, and I have 6 million dollars worth of insurance for my clients that says I know what I'm talking about. Toodles!

If you wanna have more info about all the good exercices and double ur gains http://www.bodybuilders.com. But if you are skinny it's gonna be hard for you to gain mass especially if you are a beginner.. you will be more cut later if u know what I mean. Also Creatine is pretty good it's working well if u eat well like me and train hard like me and NO STUPID ALCOHOL and it's perfect. Creatine is 100% natural and 100% legal. But if you are a beginner just don't take Creatine ur body is probably not enough strong for this now begin with protein bars like Nitrotech (39g per bar) or protein shakes. And the proteins it depends on each person for example.

                                                                Discipline and sacrifice !!

what is the best way to gain weight? i have looked into the GNC creatins but they are not really good for people with heart conditions ( i have a heart murmer). i'm working out pretty regularly for about 2 hours ago.

run/walk 4-5 miles on the treadmill with an incline that varies from 10-15% and a speed of 4.7(what the means i dont know) an then i lift. i'm getting very toned but i'm still skinny. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
