my brief run-in with bhutocracy in another thread got me to thinking.... been a long time since I talked with alot of people....

alot has happened in the last two years here. Where were you 2 years ago and where are you now?

2 years ago:

Living pretty well (Bay Area in Cali).... I was struggling to find my place in the industry.... trying a ton of different things... some successfully, some not. Definately learned from all of them though. Hadn't even become 'Amp' yet.... was a rough time. Had just exited AT&T.... damn.... went through several months of wondering where rent was gonna come from.

(lotsa shit in between.... but let's not focus on that right now)

Today:

Workin' for Adult.com.... love my job.... living on Maui Island.... bought my first home.... couldn't be fucking happier. Not much else to say really. Toned down the board persona quite a bit in just the last few months.... looking forward to the second half of this year. Grown alot.... learned alot.... and just doing my damndest to stay on the up-curve of creativity.

maybe I'll buy a new surfboard next month.

2 years ago - Still struggling with the new hosting company, lotsa bills and lotsa late nights... was submitting a few gal's back then too but wasnt making much from it. Was a lot more stressed out and unhappy back then...

now - loving the hosting biz (harsh as it is) and bought my house, got some investments, have a few fun projects on the go, own 2 two other companies, have 5 employees. Still looking for more projects tho.... now, happy and laid back, relaxing a bit more (but not much)

future plans include travel and makin more $$

part owner in several paysites but still a learner when it came to real traffic generation and several more technical aspects of the industry - used designing as easy money.. did ok for myself.

today
moved, bought a house, relinquished partnerships and focussed on ideas and experience to start up several programs which are in development and overseeing a group of people with mr-yellow. Bringing several products out to the adult novelty market space and generally having a bunch of fun doing it.

Nearly killed (Medical insurance scam almost killed my wife and did kill our unborn child - doctor refused treatment for my wife 'cos he was scamming her insurance company. in the past two years i've studied my ass off for about 6 months each for two levels of the cfa exam. hopefully i'm in the 45% who pass the level two. noway do i want to go through that hell again.

i gotta work a bit more now to make what i did two years ago. pretty much the only change now for me in this business is i submit galleries now. didn't do that a couple years ago.
