                                            Donald Rumsfeld was an undersecretary of state in the Reagan administration. He PERSONALLY met Saddam Hussein shortly after he came to power. He's even on record (I have even seen the news footage) saying that Hussein will provide a "stabilizing influence" in the area.

                                            Iran in 1979 took those U.S. hostages and the United States government BITTERLY hated Iran. That's when they started arming Iraq..in the early 80's under Reagan. If the U.S. had not armed Saddam, he would not have been able to carry on an EIGHT year war against Iran where 100's of thousands people perished! And the U.S. back then turned a blind eye to Saddam's butchering of the Shiites in Southern Iraq. The United States then (and even now) had little sympathy for the shiites as they were the clerics in power in Iran.

                                            So King..are you going to dispute all of the above also?

                                                If I had my way, Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld together with Kissinger and the numerous other war criminals currently being protected within US jurisdiction would be standing in front of war crimes court.

                                                I can see now why they came up with a total BS excuse not to participate in the International Criminal Court. But.... this is now fuctioning and it does not give a fuck what Bush says... so there is time yet
