now, my 2 cents about why people are always looking for the cure to cancer and not to hunger:
they are scared of cancer, because they may get it... but not scare of malnutrition or hunger... it's human nature, you are concerned about what affects you directly.
I may be wrong, but most likely I'm not ;-)

If we were to find a cure for aids tomorrow, and were able to treat the thousands of people in africa who are infected, that wouldnt be worth it? its not all about the money man.
I get your argument about the major companies not making as much money as they would selling the more expensive treatments, but I still think its worth looking for a cure.Comment
