    Good tools of the trade!

    Ok somebody started an intresting thread but I would like to expand it abit.

    what programs do you use and why! be it a HTML editor, a graphics program, messaging programs.
    Maybe we can enlighten some of the newbies some of the tricks of the trade.

    Here is My list.
    HTML-Dreamweaver sure it is pricey but packs a hell of a punch. I like the features like link checker, replace, templates, libary, codechecker etc etc. check it out!

    FTP- I use cute_ftp. simple to use and never really had any troubles with it.

    Graphics - I use 2. Thumbplus for making my galleries roughcuts spruce them up in dreamweaver. and then PSP7 from JASC a powerful program that does about anything you want. and even more if you add some plugins.

    messages - ICQ I hate emails. I like the instant deal.

    There you go and lets not go bashing other programs.

      here is my "equipment" that i think is very usfull

      HTML EDITOR - archnophilia : it got seatch and replace funtion, you can edit 100 htmls in a sec. its exelent for gallery making.

      FTP - cuteftp32, the best

      EMAIL - that email thing that netscape has, its fast and stable unlike tons of fancy email programs i tried (stay AWAY from incredimail!!!)

      MSSGIN - icq, i use it to talk with my traders

      THUMBNAILS - web thumbnailer sharware, i know it sound cheap but after every 20 uses i just reinstall it instead registerin

                              FrontPage does not seem to be used much anymore... I love the way it does tables and I still use FP2000 exclusively. I should try and find Dreamweaver and see if I like it, though.

                              And WSFTP is infinitely superior to CuteFTP, kids

                                                              it is abit confusing at first but once you get the hang of it look out.

                                                                                      Email- POCO - best small but powerful email proggy I've ever used
                                                                                      AOLIM and ICQ
                                                                                      All browsers, have to make sure everyone can see my sites the right way
                                                                                      WS_FTP- haven't had a problem with it yet
                                                                                      Dunce- automatic internet connection
                                                                                      mIRC- to get my free proggys
                                                                                      Roller Coaster Tycoon- for relaxation of course

                                                                                                                                      Everybody seems to have just about covered the meat and potatoes stuff so I'm gonna throw on some of the less used, but extremely useful programs I use from time to time.

                                                                                                                                      RenameWiz - Awesome renaming program. It'll rename whole directories, or automatically number hundreds of files before or after the file name. Plus mass find / replace file names and a bunch of other useful things.

                                                                                                                                      BrowserSizer - It'll resize your browser to the desired resolution so you ain't gotta change your screen resolution (and fuck up all those icon positions on the desktop) just to see how your site will look. Select IE or Nutscape and the desired resolution and BLING BLING instant relief.

                                                                                                                                      Password Agent - The best password retrieval program I've seen yet. You can search too. So if you wanna find that membership ID & password you had for VampireSex which was tucked away many months ago, just start it up, control-f / "vampire sex" and BIP, right there before your eyes.
