There are people who think that an affair of the heart and mind is every bit as much cheating as is a physical affair. While I am tossed with this one.... I think it largely depends on the state of mind between you and the person you are having cybersex with and the people each of you are with.
I am a woman, and women tend to take a bit more to heart when it comes to having an affair of sorts involving the heart or mind. So I think this would involve talking to all parties involved before making this conclusion and seeing how each of you feel about it.
There are several different types of affairs and each person will view them differently. Not sure if this answered you really, but we had this discussion in a chathouse a long time ago and came to these conclusions.

Gemini, I totally agree with you... sex, and lovemaking is a very sacred thing to ALOT of people.... and if it is hidden on any level from your partner then to me it is cheating. If you are just jerking off to a pic you see in a book or on the net, I don't see that as that bad of a thing... but if you are on a level where you are dealing with real feelings and real emotions then this is cheating unless the other parties know about it.
Of all the people we deal with in life, we, as humans, expect total trust and honesty from our partners and when that honesty and trust is broken, whether it is on a sexual level or any other level.... it puts a strain on the relationship. Anyone else in the world can work you over, and often do.. but when we give of our hearts and minds, we kinda wanna think that is rock solid and unshakable.
Maybe I am old fashioned, but this is the way I see things.
