Smoking to be banned in Amsterdam coffee shops

politicians, what are they good for anyway..

Smoking is to be banned in Amsterdam's famous coffee shops where cannabis is sold without fear of prosecution.

Under a new public smoking ban, coffee shops will still be able to sell joints but customers may have to go outside to smoke them.

Netherlands Drug Policy Foundation, Amsterdam is that it may not be as bad
as it sounds. Coffee shops that have the space may be able to comply by
simply having a non-smoking area. Sounds like CNN is being, well, a little
sensational. The Dutch are a very practical people and really don't wish to
have the folks in the coffee shops forced outside to sidewalk tables -
which are common there."

No, actually. The way it looks now is that smoking will be banned in all bars, coffeeshops etc., not for the customers' health, but for the health of the employees. Since an employee does not necessarily come to a coffeeshop to smoke, it will be banned there as well. Not only that, they want to ban it in every part of a bar/club/coffeeshop/whatever, since employees come everywhere.

Now, you could argue that if someone doesn't want to inhale any second hand smoke, he should not be an idiot and just choose another profession, but apparently the politicians over here feel that because of the odd chance that some moron wants the job without the smoke, it should be banned completely.

will dissapear because no one would go there anymore....that is

the money maker and they certainly know that. It's not just
for a reason why it's legal in Holland.....it makes money tons of it.

Coffeeshops pay tax on selling weed. But it's not allowed for them
to get tax return on the weed they buy.....since that's still "illegal"

Thats what I think... shit if someone wants to use crack, H, or whatever and kill themselves.. fine, we do not need them around anyway.
