After that I just pulled my links. Not sure how many sales (if any) I got with all the traffic that I paid for. Fortunately I still had a few thousand hits left from my purchases to direct the traffic to my other affiliates that covered the same niche.

I never gave you that response. you are either lying your ass off, or there is some serious mis communication. either weay you are NOT telling all the facts.
