- this was meant purely as an insult to bush who is a complete and utter fuck in my book ... and at least hitler had the ability to give the appearance of a cohesive country, which our fuck of a president can not (I didn't vote for him - can you tell?). I think this is an important movie to watch.....History repeats itself, so it good to remind ourselves....
The producers have such a huge responsibility to portray the times and players properly.
How do you think they are doing with the portrayl.....how accurate are the depictions of both the times and "players"
I am really interested in how the Mathew Modine character plays out.
The Hoffstegel (?) character, what a wimp.....he was greedy in the first place when he tried to pimp Hitler out and then let his child die.....

It's typical propaganda, culminating with the bold claim that Krystalnacht in 1938 was orchestrated by Hitler.
The truth (and Goebbels' diaries make this very clear) is that Goebbels made an inflamatory speech and the German crowd went on a rampage, destroying Jewish stores and killing 30 or so Jews. Hitler was furious (since the events were bad PR -- you have to remember that Nazi Germany was not seen as an evil regime in the West back then) and considered sacking

Please remember that the "west" knew as early as 1940 what was happening in Germany. Yes, Hitler was a PR monger, however.....he is the one who shot footage, henious, vile footage of people starving in the concentration camps, skulls being bull dozed into story high piles. Hitler wanted to create a museum that would represent the what the jewish people had been.....once they had been exterminated completley as a people.

In 1939, when Hitler annexed an ethnically German part of Poland which had been part of Germany before WW1, France and Britain declared war on Germany. After France had been defeated and the Brits were in serious trouble, Hitler made 2 peace offers to Churchill, both of which were turned down by the bumbling fool firgurehead that ruled Britain.
Meanwhile, Stalin had already slaughtered tens of millions of his own people during peace time. The intellectuals and the bourgeoisie, then the peasants and Christians (basically everyone who dared to openly practice religion). When the Soviets invaded Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine, slaughtering millions, the West turned a blind eye.
After all, Hitler was the bad guy and Uncle Joe Stalin was a noble ally...Comment

I am speechless.....I can't find any words.....my heart is heavy and saddened....when I was younger, I remember meeting a few people who had the tattoo on their arms from their imprisonment in concentration camps. The still haunted eyes....the childhood stolen....It is not about a religion it has to do with dignity, freedom.

Damm! I keep missing that special on Hitler. How was it? I heard that it was pretty good. Compared to Saddam Hitler looks like a ballerina......Saddam has killed more people and just dumped them in mass graves being uncaring as to who he killed. Hitler also not only killed Jews but also killed anyone that didn't follow his ways or look the way he wanted them to. He wanted to create the perfect race of people......I think he needed to be on Lithium or something!
There's a really cool museum in Washinton D.C. dedicated to the Holocaust and the survivors. Theres all tyoes of things that they found like clothing items, shoes, diaries, etc. It's a little disturbing but very informative!

After Hitler went back on his word to the allies, did you think Churchill was going to trust him at this point in history? LOL!
Although, to be fair, the allies were willing to overlook Hitler's earlier invasions if he stopped is advances into other countries - this was done in an attempt to save France.
