Tax on sex proposed in Germany

Politicians in Cologne are planning to put a sex tax on brothels and lapdancing clubs.

Until now, they have escaped paying the same taxes as nightclubs and casinos.

"Some people have fun putting coins in slot machines, others have other ways," city treasurer Peter Michael Soénius told the Express newspaper.

The city's tax authority is now investigating the details of how it could be imposed.

They are hoping to raise several hundreds of thousands of euros to fight Cologne's budget deficit.

But brothel owners aren't too pleased with the new idea.

Armin Lobscheid, manager of the city's largest brothel, Pascha, said he hoped the city "doesn't see us as a new source of income to be used infinitely".

In Holland this is already in effect for some years. The Hookers
have a trade union, on the windows in Amsterdam the prices
are listed and on it says including VAT. You can even get a receipt
with the VAT printed on it. Good for Tax write off lol

Oh, things Are getting bad in germany. february the most frequent searched keyword was not sex but "arbeitsamt".

there are already emigration jokes on pupular tv-shows. like:
74 percent of germans are thinking about emigration... the rest just wants to flee

No Thats the best thing that can happen to those people then they are protected. Once taxed its a revenue stream and Governments dont fuck with their revenue streams. lol

and with the new EU internet tax laws that go in effect in july
I won't be living in Spain anymore aswell.

I don't mind paying a little tax but things are way out of
proportion so I just pack up and move......I do admit I also
like to live in a nice place which is a second good motive for
me moving to the bahamas in August

Yes it's very smart to have those sky high tax rates and force all the rich people out of a country. This makes the situation even worse. I also have plans to move out of this shit. On the other hand sitting alone on a tropical island isn't that great either. The system is totally fucked up and it's even getting worse when you listen to the plans of our new government. Damn life isn't easy

I know....2 options, accept it and stay, reject it and leave. There
are lots of good places in this world and not every option requires
a shitload of money. Me leaving to the islands is not only tax
related it's also a dream come true. And there are people over
there aswell and the bahamas isn't remote at all......
